Daily reminder the original Star Wars lost a Oscar to one of the greatest comedies of all time.
Why would anyone give Star Wars an Oscar? For special effects maybe but it's not well written.

Okay then? Star Wars should have gotten a children's Oscar, for what it's worth.
What other Woody Allen movie is most similar to Annie Hall? As in, it's really funny and charming, and there's a more serious subtext to it but isn't overly dramatic about it.

Manhattan
Annie Hall is overrated, neurotic Jew tripe.
We get it, Alvy, you get a boner for shiksas. We get that you're a nebbish little urbanite kike with "issues". We get it, you can't be happy. We fucking get it.
How anyone confuses Woody Allen's kvetching for profundity, I'll never know.
What I do know: we will never see another true artistic movement emerge in the western world until we've driven out the Jews.

>psuedo-intellectual kike nihilist

It's a great film, one of his best, but I think it's a mix of pretty serious drama 60ish percent with about 40 percent comedy.

I'd recommend another of his greats, Hannah and Her Sisters
He has so many great and good films, it depends on whatever mood you're in

>it's a woody allen writes a short story about himself being murdered by a cow at a dinner party from the perspective of the cow episode

Annie Hall is a near perfect movie. It's also his magnum opus.

I dunno... no disrespect, i'm glad you're a fan, but while it's excellent I think "Crimes" and "Hannah" may be better films all around. Even Deconstructing Harry. Blue Jasmine is a wonderful late period achievement. I think Annie Hall typifies his best work from that period, is really immortal, theres just a couple or few I think are better.

I always enjoy his work in the magazine
