I really, really hate RLM. I can't bring myself to not boil with rage every time someone makes a thread about them. It's an unhealthy obsession, really. I'll be doing something completely unrelated and I'll start thinking about how much I hate them and their reddit sensibilities which attract like minded followers. I just truly, genuinely hate them. So it's not so much that it contradicts everything from the OT, it's just that everything just sucks. All the backstory that was implied in the OT is executed terribly in the prequels and the most important ones just happen to be in ROTS. I mean I could go into detail, but I'd have to list the entire movie.
I'd be way more interested in hearing what people think is so much better in this movie than in the previous prequels.

When Pre Rec first start Jay was on every Wed (they stream Wed and Sun) and Mike even stopped by and talked some in the background I wanna say twice. Jessie would be on almost every Wed too. That's why if you go on their Twitch page their banner is fanart of Jay, Rich, AIDS, and Jessie.

Well, it just makes far more sense than taking it at face value that she lost her will to live and died of a broken heart because no one in that room could explain what happened. Because she clearly wasn't giving up on life in that scene, rather she was fighting but failing to keep it. And the first thing Anakin asks after being suited up is "Where's Pademe?" as if there had been a connection between them that was just then cut off. It's a rare show of subtlety on the part of Lucas that got lost because the audience was used to him hitting them over the head by then and the absurdness of the Nooooooo (which would have been way more harrowing instead of hilrarious had Lucas conveyed what just happened better).

Though the prequels were spectacular failures made by a man that should never have stepped outside of a first draft/producer role, I think we aren't giving him enough credit there. In the creative process, this was probably the driving force for him to make these films, why he told this story (besides selling toys).
I mean, how could someone die of a broken heart, die from loosing the will to live? Especially after having twins, wouldn't that make a girl scout like Padmé fight hard to keep on living, despite of what had transpired? If a simple suicide was intended, I think Lucas, usually not the most subtlest of people, would have shown her throwing herself down a cliff or something. The point of the "will to live - broken heart" was a poetic diagnosis in lieu of any medical data pointing towards her death. It was because misuse of the force was at play, but none of us were invested enough the first time enough to catch it or even care about it.
