The lady cop is severely underwritten as a character and her inclusion into the group, as well as her attraction to Ash, feels rushed and/or even forced.
Ash is at times too cavalier as a character. However, despite being a brash insouciant idiot quip-machine, the show has done a lot to expand on his otherwise non-existent character from the movies; and I say that as a huge Evil Dead fanboy.
I find the jokes fall flat sometimes, especially when delivered by Pablo (though, not always). Despite this, I enjoy the relationship between Ash, Pablo and Kelly.
The CGI is pretty awful looking at times, as well. (Though, again, not always)
That being said: I really dig this show and find that even the less-than-stellar episodes are still just a lot of fun to watch. Bruce Campbell is the fucking man.
