it's more that a lot of those picks come from a fairly small span of time which makes it seem like it might be less about the content of the shows and more about when/where you were in your life when you were watching them, or what their aesthetics remind you of.

I've read the GOT books (and regretted it since that fat hack is going to keel over before he finishes writing the last books) and TWD comics. Enjoyed both, but the tv-shows sucks. And knowing the source material only makes the shows even worse in my opinion.

I really enjoyed reading the GoT books, and avoided the show for that reason (to start with, Catelyn was a total MILF in my mind, not the borderline grandmotherly figure from the show). He def will die before the story finishes. Fuckin old-ass fat.
