Trust me dude I hate Oscar bait like The Danish Girl but Whiplash is really damn good. Give it a torrent.
Whiplash is garbage. It's painfully unrealistic and badly researched, the plot is retarded, the attempts at a message are retarded, and the acting isn't that good. Some of the insults are pretty funny, but that's about it.

You have some valid points, but the reason whiplash is such an amazing movie is because it has one of the most powerful and well executed climaxes ever on film.
It's akin to a quarterback having an average game, throwing a few interceptions, but in the last 2 minutes he put's together the most unbelievable amazing drive and wins the game on a Hail mary.
Sure, no one will say that QB had the best game ever, but he had the best fucking finish and that's what makes it so memorable.
And IDK about badly researched, tell me what you mean by that, I know it's a movie but they tried to capture the rigors of music school

You're stupid of you didn't get that the message was subjective. It showed you what Whiplash had to go though to achieve greatness and let's you decide if it was worth it or not.
He can either be an obsessive loser, or a determined kid with a dream. It all depends on the perspective of the viewer and pulling that off as a director takes a lot of talent.
