I don't like the last 2 seasons of South Park that much. They have way too much consistency. I prefer when South Park is episodic and uses satire as a tool rather than long stories.

Every south park has them between the "WITTY POLITICAL SATIRE LOOK AT THAT SYMBOLISM" there are zany gags that 12 year olds can laugh at. The canadian alphabet for example. You can spot your retarded friends very easily based on what they find humorous in south park. The main signal is that they watch south park at all.

There are people who like it and there are people who don't. You fall under the category of people who don't. People who actually don't like it never watch it and don't complain unless someone mentions to them a bit on South Park they find offensive, they go on youtube and only watch that bit then retweet it, tumble it or find a subreddit to go complain because they're just seeking attention. An example of that is Wil Wheaton. AND there are people who used to watch it but stopped because Matt and Trey somehow offended them, those are the people who constantly complain about the show.

I dunno, I thought it was pretty funny. You take something true, turn it on its head, commit to it, you've got comedy. SP has always been a 'just coasting' sort of show - it's born from an era where bad animation was considered kinda funny. Think about that; they're a relic. It's a miracle they've gone as long as they have, and I commend them for committing to a season-long storyline

It's a show that serves a very valuable function in bringing social commentary to younger crowds, kids who mainly get their opinions served to them by adults in their surroundings and whatever mass-media outlet their family follows. Its aim is simply to get kids/young adults to think a bit more critically about peoples opinions on current events, so the fact that a lot of older people don't enjoy it shouldn't be surprising. Some adults still enjoy that silly take on modern issues and others think it's a waste of time.
I don't think it's dependent on intelligence or anything, just preference. There really aren't many shows that fill the same function as south park today, and I think it's great that they keep on doing what they do.
