Any Box office analyst's here?
We all know the box office is crucial for a movie so it can get sequels, does anyone know what will happen here?
And this one?
Alvin and the Chipmunks will win.
Disney fucked up big time. You should have scheduled around that kind of hype desu.

Any movie released the same day or even two weeks behind the new star wars is doomed to box office failure.
$2.5 million

BvS chickened out of that head to head, which is a shame. Would have been euphoric waves of shitposting on this board.

There was a movie that was released alongside Episode 1, some chick flick, and it's literally only remembered as "the movie that came out along with Phantom Menace.

the logic is that The Force Awakens is too mature for really small children (i.e. 6 and under), so with nothing else on there's a clear run for parents who want to take their small kids to a movie
the problem is that most parents with small children love Star Wars and see it as safe since it's basically fantasy, so they'll take their kids to it anyway
Sisters, the Pohler/Fey movie, is also opening December 18th and the idea is the same - it's for the 'female' crowd who don't want to see the pew-pew nerdy space opera
they dun goofed though because 1. Daisy Ridley is the lead and, 2. they will go to Star Wars with their boyfriends

honestly don't think the girls who would be into that either like star wars or have boyfriends
opening day for star wars will see a lot of fans go at odd times.
what else are you going to do the rest of the day other than take your kid into the next screen and have a nap

don't forget that hunk of a man in John Boyega
boy what id do to get blacked by him

>going to star with with their boyfriends
>implying any girl wants to be with a manchild who like star wars

that's not how it works
Going to the movies is usually a choice made irrespective of what's playing (unless it's a special movie for people)
the average person rarely ever goes to the movies anymore
It's all about historic attendance
If christmas night usually gets 10x the attendance of a regular night, you'll release your movie then even if you're competing with other movies

That's not fair comparing a kid's flick to something made for more mature adult audience.
I mean no one over 12 is interested in Star Wars, come one!
