>On September 10, 2013, it was announced that FX and Lionsgate are developing an American Psycho TV series that will serve as a sequel to the film.[43] It would be set in the present, with Patrick Bateman in his 50s, grooming an apprentice to be just like him.[44]
I'd probablycheckit out.
>[44]
thread was over before it began
That sounds really stupid.
>>63420796
That's fucking disgraceful. Ruins the ambiguity.
Musta been scrapped though, which is nice.
You know what wouldn't be disgraceful? These dubs.

So it begins.
>"Why, someday...you'll be my double."
>[Inception noise]
Jesus Christ, really?
>>63420833
It has a chance of beingvery nice and impressive.
>>63420833
Checked.
It's going to be shit
Bale captured lighting in a bottle with his performance
The movie would've been forgettable if the studio had got Di Caprio like they wanted.
>American Psycho TV series that will serve as a sequel to the film.
>grooming an apprentice to be just like him.
But I thought the point of the movie was that you didn't know if Patrick's homicidal sprees were nothing more than delusions? We know part of the events are in his head because of the ATM scene.
>My apprentice, two of a kind is always better
So I said why don't we make a sequel? Imagine my amazement when I learned that FX DID IT! THE ABSOLUTE AMERICAN PSYCHOS™
>>63420904
>Multiple people at FX are seemingly implying that Bateman didn't already self destruct by 50
This better have been scrapped because it's a fucking terrible idea. It doesn't even fit his character, Bateman is a pathological narcissist and a complete nihilist. Not only would he not view anyone as being worthy to be his apprentice, he wouldn't care, he'd just go shove another rat into a hooker
But Bateman died on a yacht fire in Lunar Park.
But why would he groom an apprentice? This sounds shitty.
>>63421112
Bateman set a yacht on fire and didn't remember he existed in time to get away*
>>63420831
You tried. Now let me show you how it's done.
FEED ME STRAY DOUBLES
where are the dubs
Would have been cool if pic related could have been in it. RIP.
The series official description is as follows: “In the new drama series, iconic serial killer Patrick Bateman, now in his mid-50’s but as outrageous and lethal as ever, takes on a protégé in a sadistic social experiment who will become every bit his equal – a next generation American Psycho.”
>>63421355
Finally!
About to watch this for the first time. What should I expect?
>>63420796
To be fair Bret Easton Ellis has been talking about writing a sequel as a book for the last few years, so it's not that surprising. iirc he posited it featuring Bateman taking Chris Martin from Coldplay out for waffles before gouging his eye out with the fork and killing him or something like that. Standard BEE edgy shit.
>>63421368
Wasn't there a chain of fictitious emails between Bateman and his psychiatrist that were meant to serve as a kind of follow up to the movie? Are these no longer canon?
>>63421452
Memes aside it's a good entertaining movie regardless of what you take away from the ending. Just have fun.
>>63420796
>grooming an apprentice to be just like him
this make no fucking sense, he is not a serial killer
>>63421548
>>63421541
Agreed, I won't be nearly as interested in this if the new killer doesn't have motives of his own, not just ideas put in his head.

It's actually a good, well made film. It's not like a masterpiece or whatever, but there's not really anything you have to forgive either. Definitely worth watching, and very entertaining.
But forget what this guy>>63421492 said, it's got the dankest memes of its decade

Of all the waste of time shitpost threads on /tv/, Bateman dubs threads are one of the few I forgive. Mostly because they're fucking epic
>>63421780
I meant that the movie still holds up without the memes. Doesn't mean the memes aren't dank.

Hev wouldn't even know how to. He would end up hating his "apprentice".
The should get Bale back and do a show based on 'the apprentice'
Bateman's put in charge of the new internship program at P&P after he fucks something up, the setup is one intern gets let go each week until one remains to be his apprentice. The P&P tryouts so to speak.
We get to see Bateman showing all these newbies the tricks to the business and how to get away with screwing people over etc, mingling in high society etc all the while barely keeping his bloodlust in check.
Twist is that Bateman murders each intern that gets fired after they leave.
would watch/10
>>63421782
>AHAHAHAHAHA
>apprentice isn't real

Well, let me fix that for you buddy.
Also you almost had trips.
