Too lazy to find the link to the original story, but in the old EU (which was canon), ig88's consciousness was uploaded into the death star, effectively making it his new body. He had full control over it and was probably about to murder a fuckton of people, but all of this happened moments before the rebels blew it up so nothing of consequence happens.
