>When filming in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), Mcgregor kept imitating the noise of the lightsaber during his fights. George Lucas explained many times that this would be added in by the special effects people later on. Ewan said "I keep getting carried away."
>>
That's cute.
>>
>>63407498
Thats very unprofessional. George deserves more respect from young Ewen.
>>
>>63407498
Adorable.
>>

Seems about right

What a great guy. He actually seems like an absolute and total bro desu (did anyone else see his tv series about travelling across Europe on a motorcycle?). He was without a doubt the best part of the newer trilogy excluding Herschlag, but that is a different kind of appreciation
>>
>>63407928
Portman wasn't even attractive in those movies. Her least flattering role I can ever recall, and that includes her going shaved bald in V for Vendetta.
>>
>>63407947
I dunno, she looked stunning in AOTC, I think. Especially in the resort and arena pit scenes. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
>>
>>63407498
>While shooting the space flight scenes for the start of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, McGregor continually held his breath in the cockpit of his Jedi Starfighter. Lucas explained many times thhat they were not really in space, but McGregor was concerned that the spacecraft was not airtight. "I can see little gaps all around the canopy," he is reported as saying. "Anakin and I could die up there."
>>
>>63407980
I didn't find her hairdo nor her skimpy-but-not-too-skimpy ripped outfit all that satisfactory. Episode II is literally the peak of her screen time and it was wasted on so much bad acting, bad costume design and null opportunities to get the rest of us to properly empathize with a Jedi betraying his code of celibacy.
>>

>>
>>63408015
Yeah, I agree. That's a fair analysis. I think when it comes to Portman in the trilogy though, no one or at least /tv/ really cares about her acting in the films, she's just a QT. Her screen time was wasted by poor film direction and characterisation, yeah; but I'd argue that the same thing applies to McGregor.
>>
>>63407498
>After filming the climactic duel scene for Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, McGregor was apparently inconsolable regarding the fate of co-star Hayden Christensen. George Lucas explained many times that the latter's injuries were actually extremely sophisticated make-up, but McGregor was convinced he had seriously hurt him. "Anakin was such a promising young actor," he later sobbed to a reporter, "and I burned his face ... I burned it to a crisp!"
>>
>>63408155
Is this the birth of an epic new meme?
>>
Memes aside, McGregor did a pretty good Kenobi and it kinda bums me out that he fucking loved the idea of being in the series and had fun doing it, only for it to be regarded as mostly shit. He's easily one of the very few good things about the prequels.

I'm sure the paychecks were nice at least.
>>
>>63408417
>Upon completion of filming for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, McGregor was left out of pocket when the other performers collected handsome paychecks. George Lucas explained many times that young Anakin Skywalker would win the podrace, but McGregor wagered his entire fee for the film on the character Sebulba. "That little flying Jew told me that Sebulba always wins," he later explained to Esquire magazine. "Anakin only looked about 10 - how the fuck did he beat him?"

McGregor, Lee and McDiarmid are the reasons the prequels aren't a complete waste actor wise.
Such a shame same couldn't be said about Liam Neeson, but he would have brought it if he had more to do like playing Anakin Skywalker, why oh why did we have to begin his journey when he was an annoying baby

>According to an eyewitness report, local police received at least 18 calls from Ewan McGregor (pictured above as Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith), claiming that his co-star Hayden Christensen (who plays Anakin Skywalker) had brutally murdered several children with a "lightsaber". When the police asked for proof, Mcgregor claimed that he had witnessed footage of Christensen "killing younglings", but the police were turned away at the studio doors by Lucas himself, who apologised profusely.

>McGregor was placed under house arrest for three weeks following completion of production.

Is Ewan literally autistic?

Ewan making the sounds himself is a good practical effect?
>>
>Following the climatic duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jim against Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, McGregor spiraled into a deep state of mourning over the death of his co-star Liam Neeson. George Lucas explained many times that Neeson was in fact alive and his demisse was entirely fictional, but McGregor was unconvinced, spending many days locked in trailer. When Lucas called for Neeson to visit him in order to prove he was alive, McGregor chased after him with a torch, intending on giving him a funeral pyre. Onlookers claimed McGregor was certain this would exorcise the Sith ghosts that were surely possessing Neeson's corpse.

>>
>The film was shot over a period of 301 days, most of which took place in a Los Angeles studio warehouse owned by Lucas personally. Actor Ewan McGregor caused controversy a few days into filming with his comments about how fans would be disappointed in Lucas's new directorial style. "I walked onto the set", McGregor said, "and I was blown away. I said, 'George, you've got to do more than just throw the color green at them. They need the blue, the purple, the red'". He added, "I don't do well with green and I've said this repeatedly".

>Following the release of Episode III in May of 2005, actor Ewan McGregor was arrested after breaking into Ian McDiarmid's Carnoustie home, where he repeatably bludgeoned him with a toy lightsaber. When the police dragged him out, McGregor resisted arrest and repeatably warned them that his co star was a "Sith Lord" and that they should "arrest him" and not "fall for his murderous lies".

>During the filming of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Ewan McGregor assured actor Ian McDiarmind repeatedly that he and actor Hayden Christensen would be fine when it came time to film the dueling scene with actor Christopher Lee, as Lee was obviously a Sith Lord and quote "Sith Lords are our speciality." He later expressed concern that he and Christensen would be implicated in the murder of Lee after the film was finished, as he did not believe the local investigators would take galactic law into account as the events took place a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away and may in fact use the film as evidence in their case.

> Filming of several of the key scenes for Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones was delayed when Ewan McGregor's car overheated on the way to the studio. George Lucas explained many times that a mechanic would have to be called out, but McGregor refused each time, saying he already had help.

> Arriving at the scene of the breakdown several hours later, studio staff found McGregor had brought the pedal bin from his apartment bathroom along with him in the car, and was asking it to mend the engine for him. McGregor later commented that he and the bin had "been through a lot together".

I love Star Wars and I'm one of the few people that also love the prequels. I'm not autistic or something when it comes to Star Wars but I really enjoy it.
