Most of the hate I saw Prometheus get here on /tv/ seemed to stem from people who apparently had no sense of what symbolism is at all.
I'm not saying it was a great movie, but it wasn't subtle about its symbols, and most of its critics here seemed hellbent on viewing it only in a very literal, hard sci-fi sense.
