Why does Avatar have such a negative reputation. It really is a masterpiece.

Hehe...meme.
No it isn't, James. Go back to jerking off with blue Jello or whatever the fuck it is you Mountie motherfuckers do.
I still have no idea how this movie became that big of a hit. Do people really enjoy seeing the same story over and over and over again?? Was it the 3D and the promise of a hige epic spectacle? The fuck was this shit?
>>63361139
I can't wait for avatar 2! says nobody ever...
>>63361139
Awful dialogue.
>Race traitors win, the film
If Avatar 2 isn't the nuking of the smurf planet than it's retarded.
>>63361523
It was the 3d technology meme and director of titanic meme
>>63361139
Human's should've won.
ITT butthurt haters
0/10 crymore
>>63361139
It wasn't a good movie.
It was superbly marketed as being like the next best thing in entertainment with it being filmed in 3D or whatever.
>>63361139
It was loved so much that people started hating it.
Personally, I don't like the blue color and it needed more nudity.
I hate Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and the jewy faggot who played the scientist and was in Grandmas Boy
Avatar really is more of an experience than a mere film.
Best grand scale action of the last 10-15 years.

This. I legit want to see the na'vi suffer in the next movie.
Abatap single-handedly ruined it for everyone.

>Unobtanium
You were saying?
Too much butthurt itt.
Pro tip: no Jim film is more than 20% jewish
Amazing world to look at but its not as legit as the world of Star Wars or something almost equally popular. And the story was basic.
Sequels will prob be not as good and make less than a bill.
I'm gonna jerk off to that Avatar porn tonight

It's reputation is not negative.
only here on /tv/ because people like to pretend it's the best movie ever made.
its true reputation is that it's pretty and ultimately forgettable
>inb4 this is what butthurt haters actually belive
>>63363838
>it's the best movie ever made
>implying you're not butthurt because it's true
There's a few reasons it has a bad reputation:
1. It's all style with no substance. Film is a visual media, but this isn't like Samsara or something where the visuals are used to get information across via symbolism and creative cinematography. With Avatar, they literally just used a bland story as a framework to sell digital effects technology.
2. The story isn't just painfully simple. It's also so predictable that it's boring.
3. Despite the movie itself being utterly forgettable, we'll never forget that it happened because it somehow managed to be the highest grossing movie of all time.
it's a monumentally uninspiring and predictable script set in a pretty well imagined and executed environment..

Repeat Avatar viewer here. I am uniquely qualified to actually explain why this film hit big.
The times were still lean coming off the 07-08 crash, and nobody really knew what was coming next. For my part, I stayed in a factory and happily worked 60 hour weeks, but it got old. Real exhausting, and old. Metal plant BANG-BANG-BANG GET TO THE SHIPPIGN DESK FFSFEHEHWEHFEHFWE BANG BANG BANG.
Well fuck me, I have minimal time off and I just want to unwind. w-what's this, put on these glasses?
WHEE I'M A MAN WHO 'LITERALLY' ESCAPED SHITTY EARTH OMG THE COLORS WHEEEE ALIEN BUTTSEX!!! :DDDDD
BANG-BANG-BANG DAMMIT SMITH GET OVER HERE (two weeks elapse, I need another hit)
WHEE DRAGONS FUCK EVERYTHING :DDD
In my case, this continued multiple times. I really did experience the "post-avatar-drop" which was described at the time. In all, I saw the film seven times in the theater, the most I've ever seen any film in a theater.
4chan's core userbase always remains young, but what you're missing is how really immersive the thing was in the theater, while they were memeing the new 3D stuff extra hard. A mass audience hadn't had that in a while. Couple that with a recession need for escape, and sheer SCALE, and there you be.
>Why does human feces have such a negative reputation. It really is delicious.

This tbqhf.
Aside from the visual effects watching it in 3D it was a very generic/boring movie. 5/10 at best.
>>63361523
It was the 3d bro. Did you see that shit? Nothing else matches it. The whole 3d fad was spawned off of this one movie. Forget the actual plot.

Hyperbole only weakens your argument.
