Why did the DCCU decide to cast a queer manlet as The Flash? Are they even trying?

Isn't Grant gay for real?
>>
>>63341694
Yeah, this cast really makes no sense to me.
>>
It's funny because Grant is actually closer to Ezra's height than his own listing. He always looks a bit shorter than 6'1'' Stephen Amell when they're on screen together.

Also in the comics Barry is 6' tall, so only 1 inch off.

Stop trying to make this a thing in an effort to assuage your insecurity over your lanky, oafish awkwardness, 4chan.

Anywhere between 5'10" and 6'0" is average. Anything greater than that is acne-afflicted high school prime friend-zone candidate material, and anything less is Napoleonically short.

I agree but the CWverse isn't exactly as amazing as some make it out to be. Arrow for the most part is crap though and at first was trying too hard to try and replicate the Nolan movies to an extent.

Flash is ok but for everything good they do, they also through in unnecessary love triangles and 20 minutes of Barry getting beat by the villain of the week before being babby handed by Cisco or Wells.

They seem to have hit the sweet spot with new Legends of Justice League B-team show though. I'm very intrigued by it.

Physical appearance might mean something if the Flash depended on his muscles to go go go. But the 'reality' is that if a Butterball turkey became a conduit for the speedforce then that round, plump, juicy, bird would be zooming around the city just like Barry.

Andre the Giant notoriously kept avoiding meeting the legit 7'7" Manute Bol back in the '80s and '90s because he knew the guy would immediately realize he wasn't 7'4" or whatever ridiculous billed height Andre was rocking at that time, and it would expose the business.

CW shows simply don't get enough views to justify tying them in with massive movies. If the shows were on a bigger network (and therefore had bigger budgets for actors) I could see them doing it but even still, Arrow and Flash have already burned through a number of B list DC characters that you'd think they'd want to use in movies.

The CWs do a good job with the budgets they have but could you really see Matt Nable, Ra's facing off against Batfleck?
>>
>>63342892
this.
>>
>>63342832
Is Ben McKenzie a JUST??
>>
>>63342811
It's not exclusive to wrestling, one of the more recent examples is when Jake Gyllenhaal, who lists himself as 6'0 got measured with his shoes off on one of the late night shows, don't remember which, but it showed him to be 5'10
>>
>>63342725

Who watches the Marvel tv shows that doesn't already watch Marvel movies? Absolutely no one.

The people who watch Flash/Arrow is such a minute number compared to what you can get for a big movie that it's a waste of time and money to sync up continuity, storyline, actors etc.

Plus, TV actors are TV actors. Majority don't come over to the silver screen and put in as good a performance as they can do on TV.

>>
>>63342892
Matt Nable, not really.

But Barrowman, Cavanagh and now McDonough are playing movie-level villains, acting wise.
>>
>>63343001
Cavanagh definitely, Barrowman and mcdonough are arguable, but probably wouldn't fit into the movie universe

>>63342725

>>63342887

>>
I concede ARROW is not cinematic enough, but I really think THE FLASH could be integrated to the movies nicely, and I think Gustin wouldn't be bad at all in the Justice League Snyder is shaping up.

My only real complaint is that they decided to keep them separated, ostensibly to give more creative leeway to both, yet are embargoing characters from the CW and forcing storylines to change.
>>
>>63343110
Their acting isn't on par with their a-list counterparts
>>
Thread meaning:
>let's cry together, manlets
>>
>>63342892
>CW shows simply don't get enough views to justify tying them in with massive movies.

Says who? The point to tying them into the movies in to gain viewership. People tune in to the free programs on television, and that will inspire them to buy a ticket to see the characters on film when they normally wouldn't have. Also Agents of Shield averages what, 3-5 million? Arrow gets 2-4 with a fraction of the budget and advertising.
>>
>>63343130
Man of Steel might have had A-list actors, but there was nothing A-list about the acting.
>>
>>63343176
there was plenty
>>
>>63341710

>>
>>63342931

Some people genuinely just estimate though. Jake probably did think he was 6', since most people tend to inflate their height by about two inches. So if he meets people who are 5'8'' and they claim they're 5'10'' and he's taller than them, he's gonna assume he's 6'.
>>
>>63342969
>Who watches the Marvel tv shows that doesn't already watch Marvel movies? Absolutely no one.

Tell that to all the girlfriends who get dragged begrudgingly to The Avengers, but dig the shit out of Jessica Jones.
>>
>>63343229

So they already watch Marvel movies? Thanks for backing up my point.
>>
>>63343130
Says who? You?

Call me when someone with a respected opinion saying that.

Call me when there ceases to be bad acting in "a-list" movies, as well.
>>
>>63343130
Cavill, Gadot and Momoa are on the same level as Gustin, Affleck and Miller are the only real standouts in terms of positive reception to their acting. Fisher is a wildcard.
>>
>>63343176

Adams, Crowe, Lane, Shannon and Meloni at the least were leagues ahead in MoS of the CW TV actors. Even Cavill is clearly better than Gustin and Amell because he actually has presence.
>>
>>63343144
Difference is characters from Agents of Shield will unlikely ever appear in the movies because they're either OC's or literally who's.

On the flip side it's hard to see DC making a Justice League movie without bringing in the Flash or a Suicide Squad movie without Deadshot and Captain Boomerang.

You know if DC/WB had any balls and really wanted to blow the MCU out the water they would leave both actors as flash. Ezra would be a different flash than Grant. Grant would be the key. Each and every DC thats ever existed would be a separate universe. Then at the end of Justice League 2 in 2022 or when ever the fuck it is. Have a Flashpoint with Grant's flash. Merging all the film and TV shows into one continuity. All the actors that have played any DC heroe or villain could appear in the film in some way. Even the cartoon versions of them (yea its hard to not make that part not look cheesy but its possible. ) Thats something that people would nut themselves to see. All the people that have played superman on screen at the same time battling who ever.
>>
>>63348263
Season 2 of flash is now where near as good as last year. The season premiere ruined last years amazing finaly. And the episodes were such shit without Harrison wells. That show is just an empty put without that actor. He makes everything better. And season 4 of Arrow is worse in my opinions three episodes in a row they brought back separate characters from the grave. Also the island stuff for oliver is worse fhan its ever been. I hate the way they cut his hair becuase they got lazy and amell's performance is really lazybwoth the island scenes. You can tell they dont care anymore but are forced to tell that story. And both shows are just wasting time setting up legends of tomorrow both are shit now and it makes me sad. The show runners got greedy and lazy.
>>
>>63348734
Sorry for the typos
>>
>>63348734
It's stalling now just like Arrow did in season 3. Plus it's getting stale with Barry being depressed and always gets through because of muh team.
>>
>>63348957
The worst aspects of both shows though is that they're 23 episodes long. Make them 13 episodes and have each episode matter and have every scene mean something. Every season have at least 6-7 episodes of nonsense that could be trimmed away
>>
>>63349192
Season 3 of Arrow for example. Make it 13 episodes and give it a better finale and boom its could easily have been the best season yet.
