Capeshit in cinema has been a long time coming, and it's been gestating since the 70s. Comic books have mass appeal and superheroes and easily marketable. People have been waiting for these movies for decades and the fact that they're being handled competently, despite your prejudice against the fanbase and "normies", is a huge blessing. Things could be so, so much worse. Like, Fantastic Four movies with Chris Evans worse.
Found footage is a gimmick used by lazy filmmakers who don't feel like actually setting up camera rigs or dollies. It's also an easy pull for retards who thought Paranormal Activity was some sort of masterpiece.
