Same here. I've seen a lot of people say they're not fond of the Jedi, and that they think Luke is quite boring. For me it's the opposite. Han was always awesome to me, sure, but Luke was the one I always really wanted to be. He lived that mundane life I was living and he became something more. He went from a whiny brat like his father to the cool and collected Jedi Knight that defied The Emperor to his face and managed to bring Anakin back from The Dark Side. My biggest thoughts regarding anything Star Wars have always been what has he been up to? What mysteries of The Force has he been unraveling?
Also Hamill is likable because he seems like a pretty humble guy. I'm sure he has his moments of dickery like every single human being but generally when it comes to fan interaction and the cards he's been dealt career wise he seems grateful for what he has been given and that he enjoys what he does.
