Literally Wasted Premise: The Movie
>>
>>63270314
That movie has a solid premise, it's just poorly executed. With better actors and some slight script tweaks it could be really good. I still enjoyed it though.
>>
>Jeffrey Combs was in this movie
I wanted to forget.
>>
>>63270453
This was an amazing film with a top notch cast. Combs, Snow, Grey, Penguin and June Squib were all great. Even the guy from Trailer Park Boys was good.
>>
>>63270453
Jeffrey Combs is really good in the movie though, I liked his performance a lot. It's everybody else's that sucked.
>>
>>63270546
That's the problem. Combs is good but completely underused for some reason.

lol who the fuck thinks that is a good premise

I almost wish he was just Ricky the whole movie
>>
>>63270314
LIterally one of the worst things I've ever seen.
>>
>people take the risk of dying instead of holding their breath for two fucking minutes

Are Americans really that shit at holding their breath? Is it the fat?
>>
I just got done reading the plot summary

>>63270895
I thought the same thing. I would be concerned about the high stress as my time is usually longer the more relaxed I am still a better gamble then a sick fuck's card.

Also I like the brother killing himself but I was expecting that she was the "donor" they had found. I remember now it was just Bone Marrow. They should have had it be a more lethal transplant that was necessary for her brother, her being the donor whom they kill so her organ is "available" and the brother is revealed to have an heroed anyway
>>
>>63271033
I actually hate the brother killing himself it's too dark of an ending. I'd like it more if he stays alive but never finds out what she did for him.

I also wish the main character was more interesting and had some kind of an arc, her experience playing the game should have changed her in some way.

Any recs' on movies with a similar premise ala the Saw flicks? I love these "madman creates a game of death" concepts.
>>
>>63271752
I haven't seen it but I've heard that Circle is kinda similar.
>>
>and Crab Man was there too

wtf was this movie holy shit
>>
>>63271822
>I haven't seen it but I've heard that Circle is kinda similar.
It's REALLY bad, and doesn't reveal shit at the end.

I hate these movies where the ending is stupid or left unexplained, what a fucking waste.
>>
The cast was fucking distracting
>Sasha Grey
>Crab man from My name is Earl
>Ricky from TPB

Jefferey Combs was pretty good though.
That said I'm fucking tired of this gimmick in movies. I've seen so many low-budget Saw rip-offs at this point the whole "Bad guy makes people do horrible things for money to make a statement about society" its getting fucking old. The movie is pretty bad for that alone.
>>
>>63271752
Exam is kind of similar.
>>
>that build up about Dr. D'angelo redeeming and saving the day
>he just gets shot
>back to the movie
waste of time, the premise was good
>>

I agree this shit is trite as fuck but you don't watch movies like this except for the psuedo-torture porn and to see what ridiculous shit the writers can come up with. Every Saw movie but the first was attrocious but I still watched all of them to see the traps; who cares if the plot/acting is shit.
>>
>>63273082
Saw 2 is pretty good TeeBeeAych
>>
Brittany Snow is the woman of my dreams, I'll watch anything she does. This was an ok movie though, as far as these sorts of edgy torture porn films go. Based Jeffrey Combs carries the fuck out of it.
>>
>>63271752
Watch Cube if you've never seen it.
>>
>>63270350
>>63270395

there has never been a movie with a premise like this that has been good
>>
>>63270528
grey's acting is pretty terrible m8
>>
>>63271752
Cheap Thrills.

Two men are paid increasing amounts of cash to do increasingly dangerous/illegal things by an eccentric millionaire.

It was essentially this film, but not shit. Funny, nihilistic, wicked sense of humour etc.
>>
>>63272528
The ending is so fucking shit though, honestly overall its solid its just the "reveal" and twist are so fucking stupid it actually takes the overall enjoyment of the movie down
>>
>>63273319
The ending is shit because the entire plot is shit. It uses suspense as a disguise up to the last minute to fool you into thinking otherwise. It's just another one of those films which uses 90% of the runtime pretending it is going somewhere interesting only to reveal that no, it really wasn't at all.

was there any nudity? where are the webms?

13: Game of Death
>>
The ending was fairly satisfying, and i'm glad they didn't go for the obvious 'good guy gets the girl happy ever after' shit.
I enjoy movies that subvert the hell out of that.

The son got a little too obnoxious at times though.
>>
The pacing felt a little off.
>i'll give you this much money to have a drink, you ex alcoholic
>i'll give you this much money to eat this meat, you vegetarian
>now stab either this or this person with this fucking ice pick

The 'challenges' felt a little too random, like they weren't even sure what the fuck they wanted to accomplish in the movie.
Also the acting seemed a little too.. improv, I guess. No one had any chemistry or anything, no one to act off of anyone else.
I didn't really give a shit who lived or died.
