She was a child that couldn't act. I actually liked Spacey's Lex Luthor, and his goons were cool. The scene where Lois is captured and her son plays piano was great.
The movie is seriously retarded. So bad on so many levels. But at least it's better than Man of Steel. The minigun scene and the plane scene were pretty cool. Also, Routh was top choice for a Reeve successor.

Kate Bosworth was ridiculously miscast. She was supposed to be playing Margot Kidder's Lois Lane a decade further down the line, and she looked like she belonged in high school. Sometimes a young actor can pull off playing a role many years older than themselves, but she couldn't. Parker Posey would have been a better fit for the Lois they were trying for.

It's a tired retread of Donner's Superman plots that offers nothing new except a bastard son for Supes. I feel bad for Routh & Spacey, they were both fine choices, but the film was just lifeless. It might have worked as a Superman V in 1990 with Reeve & Hackman, but for 2006 it was lacking.
