Finished watching SW:TCW yesterday. Imo 14.2 times better than the pre-sequels. Just some weird stuff: General Grevious is weak and a total wuss? Wut? He has 4 lightsabers cmon!!!
Post below:
Favorite Character ---> Me: Savage
Best Episode ---> Me: Sabotage
Weird Stuff ----> Me: General G. in general (Pun not intended)
POST 'EM /tv/

>pre-sequels
The originals?
>>63258386
no the phantom menace and on that shiz
>>63258309
Clone Wars is also 14.2 times better than Rebels
>Favorite Character ---> Me: Ahsoka
>Best Episode ---> Me: The whole arc of kenobi, Satine and Maul - The FEELS!
>Weird Stuff ----> Me: The first 2 seasons where rather cheesy.
>Stuff I loved ----> It made Anakin's fall to the dark side far more believable, what he goes through and loses in the Clone wars builds up to Revenge Of The Sith nicely!
>>63258625
That would just be "prequels". No one says "pre-sequels".
>>63258698
oops haha right xD Just noticed that now
>>63258671
couldn't have said it better myself!
But: The first season was the worst imo. just introducing stuff... meh.
Man, the battle with kenobi and viszla and stuff... very rememberable
Jedi are bad at war.
>>63258915
Everyone in Star Wars is bad at war, even the Mandalorians who are meant to do nothing but fight in wars. Every battle is about who is more inept
>>63258309
not canon
>>63258949
It's actually one of the only things brought into disney canon. Because it was Lucas's pet project and it got a whole generation of kids.
>>63258949

They don't do whats necessery to win
>yfw you finally imagine the billions upon billions of people who have died throughout the entire Star Wars series
Alderaan, both Death Stars, each destroyed capital ship, the untold numbers of dead civilians slain by droids and clones in the horrors of war, reprisals against civilians by stormtroopers during the Civil war
Why don't any of the SW series deal with this? We only focus on a bunch of invincible heroes instead of the meat grinder of battle
>>63259063
>>63259074
Invincible heroes? Naw, they die too
I'm actually watching it too, just finished season 4. Honestly i really like it.
I also got Rebels season 1 but i'm waiting to finish The Clone Wars before watching it, i really hope it's as good, from what i saw it looks really promising. And it has a grown-up Ahsoka, damn.
>>63258949
Actually it is canon and i'm completely fine with that desu
>>63259074
Because it's childish escapism, it's also why there is no grey morality outside the EU. It's made for kids
>>63259097
ALLAHU AKBAR
>>63259148
>>63259122
Yeah, I guess. I'd love to see a gritty version of Star Wars though, there's so much potential
>>63259122
There is literally nothing wrong with some stories having black and white morality.
>>63259119
Rebels is gonna murder everything! DON'T TOUCH IT, IT'S DISNEY INFECTED!
I recommend reading the Son of Dathomir comic series. Its really short, 5 issues maybe, and continues the darth maul story.
If you liked Asajj Ventress, my favorite character, I recommend reading the book Dark Disciple. It was a great story for her that continues after the series

MODS MODS MODS
>>63259181
Never said there was, it's just very obvious why they don't do anything "difficult" with questions of morality in Star Wars
>>63259207

Rebels is a million times better than Clone Wars stfu
>>63259207
Easily the best Jedi.

10/10 show senpai
>>63259311
...
>>63259074
this is explored in the book Battlefront: Twilight Company. Its pretty much just nonstop gritty war. Reads like Saving Private Ryan
>>63259369

I'm going to be boring and say Luke is my favorite but I do think Ahsoka is definitely one of the great ones for several reasons.
>>63259074
A couple episodes in clone wars does highlight civilian casualties and hardships, and season 4&5 get pretty dark
>>63259448
fuck of /pol/.
>>63259448
wtf...that looks just like him
Good Character imo. No?
>>63259385
There's some dumb designs but Clone Wars had them too.
>Every planet doesn't make its own food and relies on space imports.
>Procedural "let's go save this planet" bs
Also, the last complaint of yours, has its failing in the Clone Wars and Prequels where EVERYBODY knew what Jedi were. There were fewer than half a million Jedi. This makes no sense.
>>63259385
hey hey the spinsaber was cool, but if you think about it, retarded. Just like kylo rens lightsaber, cool but dumb and not useful
>>63259174
>tfw that was referring to the war between russia and afghanistan in the 80s when the US secretly aided the afghans with weapons, among which were heat seeking bazookas that could shoot down the russian chopters
That whole arc is pretty much the story of how the US helped create al-qaida

Are they in Clone Wars? Does that mean they're canon?
>>63258309
Favourite character: Anakin, they handled him so well.
Best Episode: the one where Sheev fights Maul and Savage
Weird stuff: Pong Krell with two double-bladed lightsabers. So sweet though.
>>63259385
>>63259661
Don't you know that spinning's a good trick?
Though in all seriousness, they make sense for what they are.
They're just crutch weapons for Force users trained wrong as a joke, and scare barely trained people into fucking up.
All inquisitors are made for is doing the busy work Vader can't be bothered with, and being the canary in case someone Vader DOES need to bother with crops up; while it was clearly made with marketing at the forefront, it is justifiable

>Mfw that book is canon
>>63261065
Doesn't mean the game's event is canon though.
>>63258309
Yeah i've been going through it all. Quite a lot of it was just guff but then you get stuff like Cad Bane, the arcs focusing on the Clones (Umbara, Rookies), the great space battle sections, intrigue and behind the scenes shit which I wouldn't have enjoyed as a kid but are pretty interesting now (all the Banking Clan deceit). As a massive EU fan back in the day little nods to certain things made me smile, like the Malevolence episode taking place above Abregado from one of the Thrawn books.
>>63261065
>there were no survivors

Dude wtf? Just get them free. The OP in /co/ for Star Wars rebels has links to everything canon in Star Wars to date.
>>63259836
why is obi in mordor?
>>63261449
Eagles flew him there
Did they ever explain why DarthMaul was a spider robot? It was weirder than DarthVader the scorpion
>>63258309
That series was such fucking garbage, god damn. There's no way it's canon. Boba Fett blowing up his own helmet which he's clearly wearing in the other films? Such stupidity. The 2003 version was far superior, this was just bad fanfiction.
>>63261618
Go to bed, Karen.
get enough sleep that you can understand the concept of replacements.
>>63261694
What? I don't even know who the hell that is. Are you just dismissing complaints now because you don't like them? In the case of Boba Fett, it was his helmet. It has the same dent and everything. And what about Darth Maul coming back? Darth Maul dying was a bad thing, sure, but bringing him back like that, to watch him accomplish nothing was so retarded.
>>63261758
Karen, pls.
If you're going to bitch about ridiculousness in the series, fine. It's a perfectly valid opinion
But when you go full retard and claim this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj07qh51zPI
is more reasonable, people will start calling you silly.
> In the case of Boba Fett, it was his helmet. It has the same dent and everything.
I don't even know what to say to that. 20 fucking years and you expect him to be wearing the precise same gear?
>>63258915
[forward firepower intensifies]
>>63259718
Reminds me of Rambo 3.
>>63261855
Could you at least bother to explain who Karen is to justify why saying my posts make me whoever that is?
And yes, I will say that those clips are much well done than anything from The Clone Wars.
>20 fucking years and you expect him to be wearing the precise same gear?
YES. It literally is said to have been his father's gear, but he painted it differently. And maybe that would be one thing, but do you care to justify how the series ends with Slave 1 in someone else's possession, without any rhyme or reason as to how Fett gets it back?
And that's just one example, of one issue. But there are so many things the cartoon does that the CGI series doesn't do. Like making Grievous an actual menace and threat, where the CGI series just portrays him as a constant failure, questioning even how he holds such a position in the first place.
>>63261758
>Darth Maul dying was a bad thing, sure, but bringing him back like that, to watch him accomplish nothing was so retarded.
FUCK. YOU.
Darth Maul coming back was the only reason I even started the show. He was the obligatory icon of my childhood and now he can actually have a story, and they actually didn't do a half bad job at starting it.
>>63262840
Hey, sorry I triggered you, but that's the story you wanted from him? Really?
>Oh look, Darth Maul's still alive actually!
>Oh look, he has a brother!
>Stirs up some shenanigans, disappears for a bit so we can watch some shitty filler about padawans building lightsabers, and then another shitty filler arc about a droid mission, then very quickly shows up again to be put in his place by Sheev.
He had about as much of an appearance as he did in Phantom Menace. There had to be a better way to bring back Darth Maul, and they certainly did a very bad job with how they handled it.
>>63262995
You forgot
>the Son of Dathomir happened
Also switch the "he has a brother" and "still alive actually" since they happen in reverse.
Nah, I didn't mind it all that much. Just because a character's arc ends in failure (which, of course it would, its canon, not rewriting canon, as great as that would be), doesn't mean it was bad. And yeah, he had a brother, who was developed pretty well on his own. The thing is, considering he's still somewhere around in the universe, the new EU material can still develop him. And there was also that chance of having that game with him come out if Disney hadn't bought Star Wars. Still... more opportunities.
>>63263256
I just felt like his revival should have happened earlier, so he could have been a bit of a bigger villain over the course of the series. I'd admit he was more entertaining to watch than Dooku.
>>63263310
Well considering the show wasn't meant to be cancelled just at season 5/6, he actually could have been. Though personally, I'm glad it ended when it did because there's only so much you can fit in over the course of 1-3 years and still keep one's suspense of disbelief.
Why did Barris Offee snap out of everyone
Where did Luminara Unduli go
>the arc about Jedi Younglings where you wanted to be engaged with them but you knew they were all dead soon enough thanks to Anakin
what order do i watch star wars content in?
original 3
prequels
this cartoon shit?
>>63267138
that's how everyone else did it.
>>63265221
they explain unduli in rebels and its actually kind of fucked up
