I have to say yes, dont go in expecting it to be all about black gangstas, each season shows a different aspect of crime, from union workers to russian mobsters, politicians to journalists.
Also take into consideration that when it came out that type of storytelling was unheard of, im talking about a whole story that expands through all the seasons and you really feel like you are a part of the police force and you care for these guys.
Once you start you wont be able to stop, oh what I would give to experience The Wire for the first time.
