Man of Steel has some okay cinematography, which is leagues ahead of anything Marvel Studios has ever done, making it excellent cinematography by capeshit flick standards. This is something that really stood out to me even when I first watched the movie back when it came out. It has a very moody and emotive feeling to it.
Unfortunately the movie itself is mediocre as hell. The only parts I really liked were the beginning parts on Krypton, which were really imaginative and probably the definitive cinematic origin story for Superman as far as I'm concerned. Everything after that is boring and lasts for way too long.

Superman was never impressive. He had feats like pulling planets or lifting the weight of a planet when he's not under attack, when he's comfortable.
