What are /tv/'s favourite Ozu films?
I've only seen I was Born But... and Late Spring. Logically, I should see the other Norikos right? Also, look at how fucking detailed this page is

Late spring

Well, you should definitely see Tokyo Story, and fast. It's an incredibly emotional film. I haven't seen Early Summer, so for that I can't say.
>look at how fucking detailed this page is
That's what I was thinking. Every time I finish a film, I read the Wikipedia article on it; but this one had just a little too much information.
1) Early Summer
2) Tokyo Twilight
3) Equinox Flower
4) Late Spring
5) Tokyo Story
Anything with pic related.R.I.P
how did he elicit such an emotional response from me with a fucking apple

She always has that same look on her face. I don't know if it's cute, sexy, devilish, or all three.
A lot of his movies really blend together.
I can't tell if that's good or bad.

literally this.

I thought he was going to cut his finger on the apple, showing how helpless he'll be without his daughter to look after him.

>all three
>>63197160
But why? They just said he'd be helpless as an excuse. Well really, as a fill-in word for "lonely"

I just thought of all the times that Nori-chan helped him out, like by getting his sash, passing him the cup of water, making tea, seeing if someone was home, and when she made the point that he doesn't know how to cook (which would make sense considering he's always had another person doing it for him his entire life). But yes, I definitely think he was lonely at the end there.

Literally the opposite for me except I haven't seen Tokyo Twilight

This image alone should inspire you to watch it.

Looks like fucking shit
What are Ozu films and where do I start?
>>63196237
Early Spring
>>63197106
This shot and the whole scene is so incredible. Such an amazingly sad film.
A Story of Floating Weeds
didnt like the remake so much since he changed the final couple of shots in a way that seemed to change the point of the film
>>63198417
So, are you a woman or a faggot? Either way, we should connect.
>>63197060
the get together at the end of equinox flower where chishu ryu sings his song and the boys join in got me good
>>63198362
ok senpai
did anyone else think the shot in late spring with the magazines sliding off the hardcover books when noriko leaves aya's house mad was meant as symbolism in the same sense as the vase and the apple scenes? I didn't even notice the vase when watching it, but subtle and not so subtle imagery like that seemed pretty ubiquitous in the film
OZU EES A DEBIR BOY
Is Tokyo Story really good? Some nigger from school gave me his criterion copy and I don't know if I should watch it or throw it away
