This is what actually happens with the whole remake/reboot schlock.
It already started. In Brazil one of the most respected writers (Monteiro Lobato) had his children books banned in schools because it supposedly has racial offences. It's specifically one line that says a female black character has "black meat". Also there's a quota that forces studios to include a centain percentage of black characters in their movies and television shows, even if they're set in a time or location where there weren't blacks.
