What does this theory add to Pixar's films? The true connection this theory is reaching for is the obvious reality that all of these movies are made by the same company so they have fun references to each other. That's the reason why they share themes and resemble each other in certain ways, taking that simple reality and confusing that to mean there's a secret long-form narrative is autosomal as fuck, and disconnected from the reality of how movies are made, how a cartoon studio works, and what fun is.
The 'greater Pixar cinematic universe' is something that occurs in movie-release order and is made by real life people who make movies, who work for a company called Pixar. That's the connection, not some mysterious occult secret narrative. These movies are created objects, and to think you are divining some hidden truth about their nature inside their own 'universe' is a ridiculous confusion of somebody who would rather insist easter eggs and references are clues to a secret narrative instead of being fun things to notice in a children's film. If you are thinking this way, you probably need to watch a more engaging film that actually attempts interpretive meaning instead of 3D animated family movies. This theory is clearly the work of somebody who loves Pixar movies so much that they refuse to acknowledge there is no information in the films left to interpret, so instead of watching a new film they develop the schizophrenia of over-interpretation.

That Bug's Life portion really feels hamfisted in there. It's just a story about a bunch of bugs dealing with bug problems, that's literally the point of the movie. There's nothing indicating insects are the dominant species other than a lack of any humans, in a movie that takes place near a tiny pond in the middle of nowhere, with scenes that show trailer parks and bug zappers are still very much in use.
