How does a Jedi stop a flamethrower?!

Force choke the gas tube?
Or would that be something only a Sith could do?
Can Jedi force choke and just choose not to?

That is spewing out liquid so a quick force push would throw it right back onto the user.
>>
>>63179536
Theoretically a powerful enough jedi could simply absorb the energy from the flame the same way Vader absorbs Han's laser in Empire Strikes Back. Alternatively they might be able to redirect the actual burning material with the force, disarm the wielder of the flamethrower or destroy it from a distance .

Well obviously we haven't seen any jedi fight people wielding flamethrowers like that yet so anything we can think of is only speculation.

By dodging it

Why do flamethrowers look so fucking stupid in Star wars? Like something just doesn't add up.

Force pushes the fire away/back at the person.

If you want to kill Jedi, use ballistic weapons. They can't reflect the bullet at all, let alone back at you. Something like a spike grenade would be a bane to Jedi. Also you can make a case that the shots from blasters are not supersonic, and that even with premonition, your typical Jedi (human ones at least) are simply not physically capable of dodging or moving their saber to block something moving that fast.

Alternatively but only brushed upon in the setting, radiation weapons. Can't use the force, can't even light saber block radiation.

Because the metal bullet would hit the lightsaber, melt and keep going, possibly hitting the Jedi.

At any rate it can't be reflected back like a blaster shot.
>>
its just burning liquid so force push it into the flametrooper

but for some reason nobody in star wars uses the force for anything besides telekinetic pulses of push power and the occassional lifting job

oh and force lightning i guess

the bullet would be evaporated

>>
>>63180796

>Light sabers outright disintegrate metal

Why then they have to struggle to cut through metal doors and such, and molten metal residue is left over after?
>>
>>63179602
Catching fire and running away without your robe isn't exactly stopping it.
>>
>>63180769
You don't think they can stop the bullet with the force and then throw it back?

It's been shown already that Jedi can stop objects in mid-air, and toss them.
>>
>>63180951
I'm not saying that they can't stop a bullet with the force and hurl it back. I'm saying that humans just don't have the brain power, even with the force/precognition, to be able to process a bullet going supersonic. Not at relatively close range, like most Star Wars encounters happen.
>>
>>63180987
They can emit a field that can redirect things, even at close range. It just takes a lot of focus to do it.

But one with that level of power wouldn't let anyone get close to begin with.
>>
>>63180987
>I'm saying that humans just don't have the brain power, even with the force/precognition, to be able to process a bullet going supersonic.

They can
>>
It's easy. Any Jedi can do it. In fact, it's so easy that Sith and Jedi have been trolling flamethrower-dude for years by using the most elaborate and absurd combos in their arsenal just to show off.

Magnet Trick to deflect the flame+Spinning Trick to create a flame whirl+Magnet Trick again to gain High Ground by putting the flame whirl over the flame dude+POV Trick to burn the guy who wanted to burn them+Magnet Trick so the flames will push the dude in the air+POV Trick so that from the Force user's point of view, they still have the High Ground+Spinning Trick to make the dude flip in the air as he is pushed by the flames

For example.
>>
>>63180987
They can create a "Force Shield" around their whole body, as per the new Disney canon. They can also slow their perception of time.
>>
>>63180987
At relatively close range, a bullet doesn't have the time to go supersonic. It takes distance for it to do that.
>>
>>63180923

Did he stay on fire ? No, thats means he stopped it.
>>
>>63179597
Easier to push the thrower to the side in his hands, burning the troopers next to him and splitting the fucker with a light saber.
>>
>>63181220
Was the flamethrower still operation imparting the user a strategic advantage?

It was not stopped, it wasn't even thwarted, let alone foiled, because the attack was successful, although one could say it was hindered, maybe if you sacrificed enough jedi robes along with various other garments and adornments, you could actually stop it.
>>
It's Star fuckin' Wars... why would that flamethrowing guy need a bulky backpack? Boba had a wrist flamethrower ffs. Flamethrowers are fine, but this one looks even more bulky than the ones irl.
>>
>>63181489
Wrist flamethrower = small range and little damage

Backpack flamethrower = massive range, massive damage, more potent fuel, more capacity, possibility for multiple different fuels, etc

I mean I don't expect them to make anything realistic, but still

Also IRL flamethrowers had more than 10m range even back in WW2
>>
>>63181195
Is this bait? Muzzle velocity is the fastest point in a bullets trajectory.
>>
>>63181195
The average bullet travels at 2,500 feet per second (around 1,700 mph). If you reacted to the sound of the gun going off and required 0.20 seconds (twice that of the fastest Olympic sprinters) to react, then you would need to be at least 500 feet away to successfully dodge a bullet.
>>
>>63181666
Not in an action movie.
>>
>>63181195
Basic ballistic knowledge will tell you that drag and gravity slow bullets down. The further they fly, the slower they get.

in the (non-canon) sw:tor cinematic, a jedi stops a lightsaber blade with her palm in the same way.

https://youtu.be/NuNvCOUy1Ts?t=536
>>
>>63180498
Really, it's retarded for jedi not to use blasters and ranged weapons.
Imagine how useful that would be combined with the powers of premonition.
You'd know when to come out of cover, when to duck into cover, when to shoot, where to shoot, you would never miss with the precision of a jedi.
Lucas is a fucking hack.
>>

TOR is shit but this is what a jedi duel should look like

That thermal detonator was weak as fuck tho
>>

What? The bullet just wouldn't go through, where in any of the movies does a lightsabre just ghost through an object?
>>
>>63180578
>Not anymore than the 3DCG show
Actually yes. The 3DCG shows are official cannon, the Gendy show is not.
>>
>>63182026
it looked like a thermal detonator but was probably just an ion grenade
>>
>>63182056

On the "why is the flamethrower so big" thing:

They're not being used for direct combat like Jango's handheld thing. They're being used for infrastructure damage/perimeter setting. Notice they're burning huts in a vague "ring" around the designated target site.

It's battlefield control, and they operate as support units. The troopers with the guns and/or electro - batons are the avsctual fighters.
>>
>>63182221
But it's sci-fi. Why not have a flamthrower with no backpack? I know the tech of the new SW reflects the OT and it's 70s/80s-ness, but even then a sci-fi movie would have taken the huge backpack out.

As soon as you say "where in any of the movies" that kind of guy has no argument.
