doe anyone here own the die hard blu ray? is it worth it over DVD?
there are movies where I dont really care about resolutions because they're good no matter what such as pulp fiction or memento and if i got everything on blu ray out of principle, I'd be broke in no time
I have several DVDs, but no Blu Rays. I don't even have a Blu ray player. Is it worth buying and then paying a little extra for Blu Ray movies?
Also, is the quality that much better, or are DVDs just becoming more obsolete?
Nice thread OP.
What about some /tv/ approved blu-ray players for NEETs?
Also does it matter that some blu rays are 5.1 audio if I am going to watch it with tv's speakers?

there are movies where it's definitely worth it. the difference regarding the visual quality is immense
Taxi Driver and Lawrence of Arabia are the ones out of my collection I'd consider must-have. Maybe Blade Runner as well
Beyond that is just a matter of how much you enjoy certain films, and if you'd feel happier permanently having an extremely high quality physical entity of it rather than just some file on your desktop

I'm really not an expert but I don't think it matters

If a movie only has a 5.1 option, then it will be downmixed to stereo by your player.
