I've binge watched it. I don't think I've witnessed such a severe drop in quality as I did in the last two episodes since Twin Peaks.

(not the actor's fault)
>>
And it's far from the only problem. I don't think even Vince Gilligan would handle so many offhand solutions to major plot points. There is playful, which culminated in masterful portrayal of Reagan by Bruce Campbell, and there is clumsy, tryhard, Tarantino-esque comic book style of characters going into tirades for seemingly no reason other to mangle what used to be well placed thematic shifts.

Also fire the choreographer. And for fucks sake, make a show that doesn't use bloodsplatter as a crutch for lack of substance. Boardwalk Empire was painful enough.

What the fuck?
Trigger me helpless, but Episode 6 was amazing and Episode 7 was decent, but not garbage in any way.
So Milligan becomes a desperate character, and that is exactly a result of having his whole crew fucking obliterated and you can see this when Floyd (Ma?) describes how Milligan's operation works and how his crew is getting less and less.
>>

Who the fuck is the second guy. Who the fuck made this shop? Why is hanzees neck so fucking long. What the fuck is this.

I honestly have no idea who made the transition from E6 to 7, they offered no clear resolution to what seemed to be cliffhangers, when the funeral scene started I thought it was a flashback. Just fucking horrible.

And how in the hell does a butcher simpleton have everyone's number?

>>63102421
it keeps the same pace, then there's E5 which is the high point of the show.

>>63102366
They tried way too hard with him. At first I thought it was a caricature, when he randomly burst into purple prose, but when I saw the Miller Crossing's homage I realized the writers/director(s) were pretty hacky.

You just know that the policeman's wife cancer is going to be cured by aliens. It's what scriptwriters of this calibre think as Lynchian moments.
>>
>>63102657
HBO is in the worst shape it's been in a long time. FX was always hit or miss, but Fargo is definitely a miss.
>>
>>63102690
At least their trying, and their average stuff is better than the average cable television. Some great stuff has come from there too, it's definitely the future.
>>
Ok then
>>
>>63102828
First season was pretty good throughout, though based Billy Bob did most of the heavy lifting.

I liked how the second season introduced several themes (Vietnam-shaped characters, nature of patriotism, blandness of everyday struggle), but it veers of in every which way, I mean the Gerhards are pitiful caricatures, a family that blindly runs from place to place looking for nobodies and petty revenge while the big crime syndicate is set upon them is cartoonish, and the show didn't strike me as one.
>>
>>63102828

HBO's 2016 seems loaded though. They've got a shitload of stuff ordered and in development.
>>
I, for one, am thoroughly enjoying this season. Only two qualms really, Milligan's doing his ridiculous quotes and how the hell did Ed end up with his phone number at the end of the latest episode?

Seriously though they went way too try hard with Milligan. We get it he's quirky, smart nigger bad guy. At least they gave me the satisfaction of bear Gerhardt killing the fucking coal burner.
>>
>>63102934

All the stuff that was talked about that happened off screen (Ed and his wife getting away, Hanzee shooting up a bar, Dodd getting captured etc.) will be shown next episode.
>>
>>63102977
Bet Hanzee's gonna go Punisher Ira Hayes mode on some rayciss rednecks.
>>
>>63102934

>implying she's dead

No gunshot, and the camera cut away.

She'll show up with a shaved head at some point.

As for Milligan, I couldn't agree more, they've completely flanderized his character.
>>
>>63102977
Can't wait. Should be a great episode, I really look forward to more of Ed being a simpleton bad ass and based Hanzee doing what he does best.
>>
>>63102934
People have been suggesting that she may have been spared because they didn't show the execution. I really hope this isn't the case. Haven't seen a bigger cunt grace the television screen since Sharon Stone in Casino.
>>
>>63103098
I feel like the only one that doesn't hate Milligan at this point. I mean I liked seeing a different side of his character and liked even more to how he is back to his normal self after one episode (or so it seems)

I was hoping for a more torturous death for little Ms. I'm going to get my entire family killed because my dad is an asshole, but based bear Gerhardt taking out the trash was acceptable.

There is a distinct possibility she was spared, though. Fuck those people for even putting the thought into my head.

>ow she kicked me nuts better let her go
>let's not take this nigger in for attempted murder in front of our eyes

they have no idea how to resolve anything and even when they do violent scenes, most of them feel like slapstick.
>>
>>63103181
They shouldn't have him doing the quote thing in every fucking scene he is in. Literally nobody behaves that way, he's like a caricature at this point. Having him do it once early on to give you that "oh shit we got a bad ass over here" moment would have been fine, but they are trying way too fucking hard to make him the quirky bad ass.

>>63103312
This has always been the case. Pretty much anything /tv/ is ripping on is probably something you should consider watching.

I'll admit these people come up with some pretty legitimate complaints, but it's never as bad as they make it out to be.

>>63104147

>>
>>63104147
I wasn't complaining about people criticizing the show either. All I did was make a generally true statement about /tv/ in response to somebody that actually was complaining about people who are harsh on the show.

>>
>>63104147
>>63104251

>>
>>63102749
The last call the family got probably actually was the Indian. Seemed to me like only the first two were Ed, then he went to Milligan instead.
>>
>>63104247
I agree with the interpretation part, but I don't think its badly written. Far from it.
I think thats its safe to assume that they have more than one room dedicated to the Syndicate, so going in their would cause in both sides losing a lot, not matter how fast they are in the ambush
again, some of this should be explained, but it doesn't mean the show is poorly written
>>
>>63104247
I completely agree with you, although

>how did Bear know where they were staying?
I think it makes sense that the Gerhardt's know where Mike and his crew are staying. They have probably been keeping an eye on them since they first showed up, and it's their town.

Milligan's character makes perfect sense, though, he tries to sound educated to make up for the fact that he's black. It's been hinted plenty of times he had a rough childhood and doesn't have the respect of the mob he works for because of his race. It's why he takes such good care of his appearance, quotes obscure shit and makes a big point of the fact that he can be persuasive and articulate and is able to type in episode 2. Of course, the scene with the Undertaker shows that no matter how civilised he pretends to be he's still just a violent criminal.

Well he did shoot up the Gerhardt's home too, and come on, that was a question of survival, someone named the Undertaker isn't coming there to pat him on the back and tell him nice try.
>>

The Gerhards were a patriarchy. Pops is gone & the Reagan's corporate takeover is upon them.

You guys can't see the forest for the trees. It's all about Main St. vs. Wall St. here.
>>
I really didn't understand this last episode's point very well. Why did they not show us Hanzee going after Ed and Peggy? Why didn't they show him killing the two state patrolmen? Why did they just completely skip over that for the sake of a much less interesting plotline? The wife snitching on the Kansas boys, the Undertaker plotline and the girl that wants to bust a nut getting her deserved death were all plotlines that should have been shortened for the sake of the one that actually matters.

Not to mention the fact they wasted a lot of time with the stupid drawings that I am gonna assume is related to aliens because what the fuck is this show even doing? This alien shit is getting retarded and there's basically no way the pay off will be good. Either they're gonna actually show us aliens and it will be fucking stupid and hilarious, or it will all be a metaphor that will be stupid and time-wasting or they'll make it not very clear and have it be the whole generic "WHO KNOWS?" cliche bullshit in the finale

Not gonna lie, the two previous episodes were excellent, but this one was really fucking disappointing. It feels like there's a pretty important episode missing between the last one and this one.

Also, Mike Milligan sucks. There, I said it.
>>
>>63102740

Don't worry m8, videogames would be more suitable for you.

Why would Hank leave the scene without checking on Peggy?

Why did Mike not massacre every Gerhardt when he assaulted the compound and instead only killed the useless old man?

Why would Lou not arrest Mike and the Kitchen brother on sight when he knew they were involved in multiple murders and were clearly holding a woman against her will?

How did Ed get Mike's phone number?

>I really didn't understand this last episode's point very well. Why did they not show us Hanzee going after Ed and Peggy? Why didn't they show him killing the two state patrolmen? Why did they just completely skip over that for the sake of a much less interesting plotline?
BECAUSE IT WILL BE FUCKING EXPLAINED IN EPISODE 8.

This guy. Remember how he kept telling Bear someone was calling about Dodd? It was clearly Ed calling. Ricky must have given him either Mike's name or Mike's number.

I liked Miller's Crossing better when it was A Fistful of Dollars, and I liked that better when it was Yojimbo

Are you fucking retarded? Why would he have Mike's number, and even if he did, why the fuck would he give it to Ed?

You think if the Gerhardt had Mike's number, they wouldn't know where he was staying and killed his ass already?

Is this the classic "it's popular with the common people now so 4chan hates it" meme?
Last episode was definitely weakest so far for me

I think most people shit on it because critics liked it more than TD S2, it's basically an extension of the TD S2 was good meme.

I think the critics take too many shots at TD2, comparing it to Fargo seems pointless.
