What does /tv/ think of Band of Brothers? I started watching it yesterday and so far, I'm impressed. Excellent writing, great characters and the atmosphere sucks you right in almost making you think you're there.
its solid. would've been better on netflix though. hbo dropped the ball a bit.
>>63091539
just finished watching it
very comfy
i like playing company of heroes 2 in between episodes

>>63091539
Good series. Made me realise how completely insignificant american role in european war was compared to the soviets.
>>63091631
this must be bait right
battle of bulge crippled the wehrmacht, you know that right? imagine if they put all those resources into fighting the soviets.
the soviets dealt a bigger blow sure but the american role wasn't insignificant.
>>63091675
>battle of bulge crippled the wehrmacht
Pls stop, my sides are in space already
>>63091631
the soviets wouldn't have been able to feed and clothe their soldiers, fuel their trucks (or even have proper trucks), and communicate effectively without americans supporting their logistics
Who's you're Easyfu?
>>63091747
Nice one. Than americans should make miniseries about making ham cans instead of how they rolled from a single foxhole to another and crippled the wehrmacht in the process.
>>63091796
calm down ivan no one is saying americans single-handedly won ww2
it was a team effort
>>63091827
Well show the actual effort then, not your fantasies about them.
>>63091631
I wouldnt say insignificant, but minor yeah. Dont they teach this in school over there?
>>63091631
>insignificant american role
We literally won the fucking war.
>>63091539
One of the best TV show ever made.
Soviets wouldn't have won Stalingrad without American Lend-lease support.
>>63091796
You're fucking retarded if you compare american and soviet roles in ww2. America was the industrial power of the world very quickly during ww2, mainly due to having an extremely secure homeland and unfettered access to resources needed for production. They materially supported all of the Allies to the point that had they not, the outcome would have been very very different. Beyond that, the American war was an offensive. The soviet war was a defense of their home territory. Two entirely different things. What the Americans did, on the whole, was amazing during ww2, what the soviets did was amazing as well, but from an entirely different perspective (soviet battle doctrine, defending your actual land). When the Soviets actually went on the offensive, Hitler had fucked up the Eastern front so bad that you couldn't call it much of a war at that point. The Americans encountered heavy resistance all the way to Germany and fought smart and hard.
The story of the Eastern front is amazing, but you just can't compare Russia and America's contributions to the war. They are entirely different. And for you fags that want to bitch about "everyone thinks ww2 America best but they suxxor lol!", you live in a world dominated by western media. Of course you're going to get our story over others, dumbasses.

Thank you for letting us know you have exactly zero knowledge of the events of the first half of the 20th century.
>>63091969
You forgot the part where we launched two fireworks after the game.
>>63091850
>We literally won the war.
Allied commanders have admitted that even if America never would have taken part in the European theater, other than logistically (which they did even before the Germans declared war on the US, due to the tactical incompetence of Hitler, the Allied would have won the war by the end of 1946 - shit, they didn't even want to assassinate Hitler because he was doing more harm to the Axis war effort than themselves. German officers planned multiple assassinations of the Fuhrer in order to try and end the war.
Since I watched BoB I have not once eaten spaghetti.
True story.
ITT slavs get triggered when an american TV show doesn't fellate the soviets
>yfw current day russia can't even invade the ukraine properly
>>63091943
>That scene when he's the last one watching a film
>>63092078
Are you joking? Russia have made out like cartoon bandits.
>get to take over all of Sevastopol
>shrek the Ukrainian military with obvious "volunteers"
>EU can't do shit because risk of escalation
Russia would be greedy to ask for anything more, their operations have been a near complete success.

>>63091539
pretty shit
hur durr murrica murrica murricaaaaaa
pretty much a perfect show
>>63092308
Neither in the series. He got sent to a hospital. Remember that scene where that one guy with the three Purple Hearts is showing off with his medals and then his buddy makes a remark "Yeah, and he only gets one" when his entire face and neck is covered in bandages. Then they tell pre-credits that he died from complications in 1948.
>>63091675
You know the battle of the bulge was a German offensive?
>>63091567
>would've been better on netflix
