Is the funny thing about UK comedy that it's not funny? I watched the first episode of The Office and it was terrible. I've seen a few episodes of the US version and that was terrible, too, so I'm not biased.

But the BBC isn't government run or owned, plus all the main channels are on exactly the same terms as the BBC. They are all public service broadcasters, that's why they all have to have news bulletins, documentaries, current affairs content etc. If they had their way it would be reality TV 24/7, Channel 5 would be even worse than it is now. They all get a little of the licence fee too.

Yeah still worth watching all the way through. Ben Chaplin was brilliant though, not surprised he went off to try his luck in Hollywood. If he had stayed though I reckon this could have been a classic.
