It wasn't until like the third investigation that they did the coordinated investigation with police, and at that point pretty much every person featured on the show was arrested and the majority of them were convicted. You can go back and look them up on the Megan's Law website if you don't believe me.
The only investigation where the arrests were thrown out was the Texas one, and that was because the DA in the county where the sting happened had specifically told the Police Chief NOT to work with Dateline.
