Vader isn't exactly in a position of open revolt at that point, being too far gone. There is definitely a part of him who knows he's a tool to Sheev, the comics expand a bit better on their relationship, with Sheev keeping Vader busy with missions and inspiring him to have vendettas to settle, while also scheming to replace him constantly. Then Vader gets wise and kills/disgraces the apprentice to be and Sheev can't really be mad about it because it just proves they're not worthy.
It's the quintessential Sith master/apprentice relationship really. In the end all pupils are expected to overthrow their teachers one way or another.

This is the most underrated line in the movie. It was unintentionally the most characteristic line for Anakin to say. After pledging himself to Sheev, he does no formal training for the dark side and merely kills a bunch of children and bankers. As brash as he is, he claims Obi Wan underestimates him, when in reality he has become no more powerful by simply stating that he has turned to the dark side. And this is why he loses the fight.

It starts off with Anakin feeling betrayed by Padme for bringing Obi Wan. He feels like she betrayed their love for the jedi, and in his anger he chokes her unconcious. That's when Obi wan steps in.
They stare at one another while taking out their lightsabers. It's clear Anakin is trying to kill Padme, but Obi Wan is defending her life. Eventually Anakin makes sudden attacks, and there's a bunch of quick strikes. Anakin is playing dirty, while Obi wan keeps to the classic strikes of a jedi knight. Obi wan falters slightly, and Anakin sees this. He goes all out and Obi wan tries his best to keep up. Obi wan then loses his footings and falls down, gravely wounded. Anakin cuts his lightsaber hilt, leaving obi wan defenseless. But Anakin doesn't bother finishing Obi wan and goes murder Padme, lifting up her body while yelling at her. You hear something snap, and Obi wan screams to let her go. He drops her and moves toward Obi wan, ready to finish it.
Obi wan limps up and prepares a last stand, knowing he can't win the fight without making a sacrifice. Anakin mocks him, saying he can strike him down with ease because he's become more powerful than Obi wan could possibly imagine.
Obi wan ignores him, closes his eyes and concentrates. "May the force be with you Anakin." "I am Darth Vader!"
He lunges at Obi wan, but Obi wan dodges his attack, grabs hold of Anakin, and kicks them both off the edge of the platform, where they fall onto hard rocks. Obi wan is knocked out, and Anakin lands too close to the lava, he burns alive.
The screams are heard from the ship as R2 and C3PO bring Padme aboard the ship.
Obi wan wakes up when he feels R2 nudging him. He gets up and sees Anakin's burned body. Thinking he is just a corpse, he cries and yells at him. "Why did you betray us! Why! You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!"

Anakin had literally zero hope of winning. Obi-Wan was the greatest defensive swordfighter of his time and he trained Anakin so he knows his exact fighting style.
I don't care that they were fighting at their "peaks." That fight should have lasted maybe 5 minutes. Think the first time Anakin fought Dooku (not a great example because it's the worst lightsaber duel in the entire serious but bear with me.)
Anakin would have been hopelessly outclassed in that fight and never even gotten close to Obi Wan. The only reason he doesn't lose in 30 seconds is because Kenobi doesn't want to kill him, much like Vader vs Luke in ESB. Eventually after some mid-combat dialogue Obi realizes Anakin is too far gone to save at the time so he fucks his shit right up but not in a way that kills him, says some shit about eventually seeing how he's been mislead and that he's a fucking moron, and walks away.
Also change Padme dying of "a broken heart" because that shit makes no fucking sense. It should be Sheev or somebody who works for him killing her so Vader isn't tempted to try and find her.

But Star Wars isn't about that grey area. It's a classic good vs evil story. It doesn't make any sense if it isn't that way. In Lucas' mind Good and Evil are actual forces, almost tangible. In reality, good and evil don't exist. There is simply humanity which sometimes creates and sometimes destroys. Obviously you can create an interesting and meaningful story by reflecting reality in your fictional world but you can also make it a complete fantasy that's entertaining and interesting in its own right.
