We can ignore the movie. I've ignored SW since I say AotC in theaters. That was the moment I gave up on the series. I will always have the OT. Some of the EU stuff in the 90's was cool, fun games, but I really don't give a shit about anything else.
I didn't see RotS in theaters, and I won't be seeing JJ Wars either.

as a black man I'd like to state that I've never been happier to go see a star wars movie. been a fan of the series since a young kid, Boyega is the same age as me. Feels good to see a nerdy brother make it, definitely taking my girl t see this one more than once.
i mean it's not like it makes that big of a difference that he's black, but it's nice to see someone who looks like you get to be the hero in a sci-fi movie on the scale of star wars for once. they should put some asian/indian people in these movies too, it would be nice for everyone to feel represented. i mean, mace windu and lando were cool and all, but they weren't one of the main characters.
