Luckily even my parents have enough braincells not to watch this shit so I never got to see much growing up, and I've carried on the habit of not giving this shit attention quite happily

As bizarre as that is, it's a really good impression

He must have worked on that at some stage
>>
>>62937008
Chaser used to rip the shit out of aca and tt so well. The tottally discredited both of them as legitimate news programs.
>>
>>62937065
Does Australia have any actual decent long-running tv series'? All I can think of is mini-series', and I guess Chaser's.
>>

There was a show loosely based on the movie Zulu, called Emu, which I highly recommend

>Cooking dinner for wife when she does a double shift, I turn the TV on so I have something to watch from the kitchen
>Every fucking time it's always pensioners, leftists, soccer mums or Muslims complaining about how bad they have life

Just for once I'd like to turn on the TV and see a story about how nice it is that we aren't on the ass end of a drought, or how we haven't had to march off to war for nearly a century.

I have no idea how Australians can complain this much.

Jeez I dunno. Round the Twist was an awesome show, based around Paul Jennings books. Im not sure how long it ran for. It felt long... obviously u have neighbours and home and away but those shows are just soapy trash.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, you have Hotdogs late night gameshow, which ran for like 5 episodes before he was taken off the air for appearing high as fuck and drunk simultaneously.

I know your pain. I havent watched tv in like a year. Apparently we arent alone either. I listened to something on RN a few weeks about how free to air stations are going down the toilet and its mainly due to lack of decent and current content which usually gets snapped up by foxtel or austar.
>>
>>62937415
>Implying I didnt watch Izzy and Flick era too
Let me prove it to you. When the Scullys first came in, Lynn, Holly Valances mum, though Today's name was bullfrog.

It's just universally true that the best era was like... 2002-2010ish.

The Scullys were still in it during that time and infact all of Izzys era took place around about then. The show was just at it's peak kitsch appeal. The story lines were a perfect blend of banality and intrigue. The character dynamics and interactions were refined to a science. Remember the Irish guy and his super hot Italian mobster daughter gf? Remember how he lived with two other blokes in the house of trouser? Remember when the house of trouser had is dynamic threatened when toady got a gf but then he accidentally drove her off a cliff on his wedding day? The show was fucking based.

I have no idea how you can remember Neighbours storylines. All I remember was jacking off whenever Valance came on screen in a bikini, or one of the other fluid druids had some pool party to go to or some excuse for them to be half naked. Every episode just seemed to meld together, as it was always:

>X has cheated on Y
>X hasn't been a good neighbour to Y
>It's a forgiveness episode
>Harold is mumbling and shaking his head, and has a new age-determined ailment
>Toad is sporting a new earring
>Look, Aboriginals dindu nuthin

Also, I remember Karl keking Sue, that's pretty much all.

I watched this the other day, there was a story about a male doctor who had consensual sex with his female patient. They were both cheating on their spouses. The patient then came back and begged him for more sex and he said no. She then demanded $10,000 from him or she would tell his wife. She admitted all of this including the fact that she was in love with him. The show took her side for some fucking reason and made the doctor out to be an evil rapist.

>we aren't on the ass end of a drought
But we're on our way right into another one, combined with an El Nino (hot dry period for those of you who didn't do Geography). Shit's going to suck. Also war with China imminent. Also China are buying our resources and our government is helping them for god knows why but it's probably not in our long term interests.

The future is spoopy.

A Current Affair is a horrible show unless you view it knowing it is incredibly sensationalist and flat out devoid of integrity.
Most of the comedy comes from the circumstances they expect the audiences to swallow.
Sometimes I think it is almost self aware with it's stupidity.

They need Slats to be the straight man when Bradshaw's having a break. Brett Lee a shit and Huss is too autistic to off-topic bantz once in a while
