What is the best movie of the year and why is it Ex Machina

Most of the films I saw from this year were better than Ex Machina. And a lot of those films were bad.
Ex Machina is just some hipster city dweller's version of sci fi, with the genre's tropes regurtitated to serve some lame monster story with a feminist twist. It is as dumb as something like Avengers but people think it's thought provoking because (vague theoretical non sense that the isn't even really interested in).
