The worst thing about Jessica Jones is Jessica Jones.
Her tough/drinking shtick got old real fast. She can stop a car like it's nothing, but struggles to pull herself up a railing and can't knock out people with a simple punch (see episodes where 6 security guards take back Killgrave), because the actress isn't fit we're presented with Smallville tier action with lots of cuts, stiff fight coreography and people sent flying across rooms.
Her best friend is easily the best written character in the show. Killgrave is shinse every time he's on screen. The lesbian lawyer is well written and Luke Cage is pretty likeable besides throwing little bitch fits.
I had no expectations fore Daredevil and it blew em away. I had high hopes for Jessica Jones due to Daredevil and the rave reviews, but it's pretty damn mediocre and Jessica Jones herself is the shows biggest flaw.

I haven't seen this yet. Is the issue that the character IS effortlessly knocking people out with single punches and it looks wrong, or that she can't one-hit KO anyone? Because the second is actually pretty realistic, Daredevil took a similar approach in that most random thugs had to be beaten down repeatedly before they stopped fighting back and even then, they were generally still conscious. It's better than treating the head as an on/off switch.

My biggest issue is the Killgrave mind controlled thing being used as an substitue for rape. It's so heavey handed. "It's not your fault! It's not your fault! Don't blame yourself! You have PTSD. I'm halfway through episode 4. I don't know if I can keep going, to be completely honest. The fight scenes are terrible. Her powers are widely inconsistent so far. Every other scene is just drama between the divorcing lesbians, and I couldn't care less about them. Every other scene that isn't lesbian drama is a PG-13 sex scene between Jessica and Luke. I can't tell if I'm watching a softcore porn or an actual show. I'd like there to be some actual plot soon. Kilgrave is cool so far even though it's only been glimpses. Probably the only decent part of the show. The cop and Trish subplot might turn out decent too. But everything else is meh as fuck.

The biggest problem with the fight scenes is that they have absolutely no weight to them. You get very little demonstration that these characters actually have super strength. It's always just people go flying slightly and occasionally someone gets put through a cheap cardboard wall.
Any piece of media that has people with superpowers fighting should watch the opening scene from The Winder Solider over and over again. Cap destroying those mercenaries on the boat was the perfect example of how you show super strength.

I think it's valid though (granted they should have done a better job of it) but when you had other fights they were better, I thought. Patsy vs cop fights were pretty solid and kind of hilarious seeing how they built up her Krav Maga shit when they were introducing her. The Cop fighting the guards was pretty good too. It's really the Jessica vs...anyone where it's obvious how things feel off. And she doesn't really hit anyone it's a lot of throwing and holding and hitting because she's trying not to hurt people. But some wire work stunts to really toss people would have helped. Plus her in the cell with Kilgrave was good. They just didn't think out the effect of her somewhat passive untrained fighting well enough before they filmed.

Exactly, the choreography in this was a huge letdown after Daredevil. When DD fights, he gets tired, gets stunned by blows and takes multiple hard hits to take out opponents, usually just beating them until they can't go in for more, rather than KOing everyone out cold.
You're very aware that he is just a very tough/determined guy, but it's also obvious there's something more than human about him as he reacts to opponents super fast and often attacks, parries and throws objects with deadly accuracy and without looking.
