How accurate is the Aramaic and Latin spoken in The Passion of the Christ?
>>
The effeminate Catholic depiction of Jesus is completely wrong. He did not have long hair.

This is how the Lord most likely looked.

The language doesn't matter aslong as the Gospel is correctly shown.

Jesus did not stumble but the movie emphasizes that myth. He is also shown with only 1 eye open half the movie (Antichrist symbolism).

Satanic movie, wouldn't recommend it.

Catholic equated Jesus Christ as being Nazirite (the one taking an oath of never cutting your hair and never drinking any wine) but rather he is a Nazarene, i.e. a person from Nazareth.

Also, from Paul's teachings, having long hair for men is a shameful act

1 Corinth 11:14 King James Version

Does not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame to him?
>>
>>62912746
An 8 year old girl drew that portrait.
She claimed to see Christ in a vision.

It also matches the shroud of Turin.

He was a carpenter, not a liberal hippie that most European drawings make Him out to be.

God created man in his own image, Jesus is the perfect man, that's why he has long hair and a beard.

That's not long hair you moron.

Jesus had a lot of hair (like all Jews of the time) but it didn't go below the shoulders like a woman.

Catholics going directly against scripture, as usual.

Also, Jesus made made wine as well as evidenced from the Wedding at Canaa which is his first miracle.

Shitty translation m8.

Original greek verse:

ἢ οὐδὲ αὐτὴ ἡ φύσις διδάσkει ὑμᾶς ὅτι ἀνὴρ μὲν ἐὰν kομᾷ, ἀτιμία αὐτῷ ἐστι

He says kομᾷ which means "to cut and style hair", you are not allowed to style your hair like a woman, otherwise what sense would it make to say nature is against long hair when hair naturally grows long? If anything it's against nature to cut your hair.

Variation within kinds =/= Evolution

Kent Hovind and Trey Smith have already gone over this.

It's speciation, which is small-scale evolution. Evolution is based on the same principle, only on a larger scale both timewise and in terms of the differences.

Variation within kinds slowly separate themselves over millions of years, this can very clearly be observed in numerous instances. The problem is that it's just hard to find a full direct link because it's such a long process and bodies decompose.

You don't even have a proper definition of "species". Sometimes you refer it to a kind of animal, other times you use for different races/variations of a kind.

You're also going by a slippery slope. You see variations of an animal and automatically assume we all came from a rock 9 gorillion years ago?

It's wishful thinking and there is no scientific evidence for it. Evolution is a religion.

No, the equivalent of growing toenails is change of that nature in a single specimen in a single generation.

That picture is an analogy to longer toenails being more effective in the local environment, and therefore being more effective for survival, thus a likely trait to be passed on to the next generation (evolution)

As for creation, the Bible is very clear. God made the world in 6 days. It's later reaffirmed by saying "THE first day". How many "first" days are there? Just 1.

It's impossible to take the creation story not literally, God made it simple for us to understand.

Both science and scripture points towards a Biblical creation story. Evolution is a myth that has been destroyed years ago.

Apostolic succession is nowhere in the Bible.

1. Peter was married.
2. Mary did not remain a virgin forever. She was a sinner like all of mankind yet you elevate her to a "goddess" which is blasphemy.

Evolution is a religion. Yes, evolution is the faith of atheism because it replaces God with man. When you've conned yourself into believing that some kind of ancient slime morphed into progressively complex and directional life forms, you are in the realm of faith, not science.

Do you believe that you can breed dogs? How can you be so retarded that you don't see how nature naturally breeds all living organisms through natural selection?
>>
>>62914790
Evolution has 6 meanings:

1. Cosmic evolution- the origin of time, space and matter, ie. Big Bang
2. Chemical evolution- the origin of higher elements from hydrogen.
3. Stellar and planetary evolution. Origin of stars and planets. No one has ever seen a star or planet form.
4. Organic evolution. Origin of Life.
5. Macro-evolution. Changing from one kind of animal into another.
6. Micro-evolution. Variations within a kind.

Only the last one is scientific, the rest requires faith.

When we talk about evolution we mostly mean point #5. This does not happen, infact it violates so many laws of nature it's not even funny.

There are many ways to refute evolution, like DNA, fossils, showing the flaws of radiometric dating, etc.
>>

>>
>>62914731
>that image
I am triggered.
The modern monkeys are not the same kind of primates that existed when man was still a "close relative". They went extinct and/or evolved to the primated we know today.
Also, evolution isn't about "Improving" but "adapting". A "less evolved" version of an animal could survive to present day if they were more adaptated to their current enviroment than another more "modern" species. That's why we and other older primates survived but the australopithecus died.
>>
>>62914996
Variations of an animal is NOT evolution.

Breeding dogs is not adding new information, you are not magically creating new stuff. You are selecting from a gene pool.

There is a limit, you can't breed a dog the size of Texas or as small as an insect. There is a limit to the DNA genetic code.

Evolutionists claim that animals evolve through mutations, but mutations are always a LOSS of code. It's getting worse, not better. Mutations are always harmful, not beneficient.

As for breeding, notice how all dogs are inferior to the original product: a wolf. Breeding is a scrambling of DNA, not evolution.

Guess what, dogs will always be dogs. They will never grow wings or turn into a whale. They do not have the genetic code to do that.

Why would your magical evolution be exempt from the law of entropy? We are getting worse, not better.

"Neanderthal" skulls are superior to ours in every single way.
>bigger brain capacity
>stronger bones
The more you eat, the stronger your jaw bones get. Those skulls have much stronger jaw bones which signify they lived much longer than we do (just as the Bible says).

What you call "Neanderthalls" were infact people from the pre-flood world, and they were not caveman as is depicted in your cartoons and comics.

The original man (Adam) was superior to us. The more you get down the lineage, the more diluted our DNA becomes and more fragile our bones.

Imagine a piece of paper, and making a copy of that paper. Then make a copy of the copy. Repeat and papers will constantly get more watered down and harder to read.

We are a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of the first human which was much greater than we are.

There is no evolution, there is entropy.
It is Satan that wants you to believe we are 'evolving', with the whole "ye shall be as gods!" thing.

>Why would your magical evolution be exempt from the law of entropy? We are getting worse, not better.

Evolution can go "better", because it isn't limited to fuel. Don't abuse the second law of thermodynamics, it's a logical fallacy, whether in the mouth of creationists or their opponents.

It's like saying a PC from 2015 can't be more complicated than a toaster from 1954.

Entropy is about energy, not information. Genetics is more information than energy.

>Neanderthal" skulls are superior to ours in every single way.

As I've said, evolution isn't about what it's "superior" but about what is more adapted to a current enviroment.
And those aren't exacly pros if you are thinking about energy conservation and the protection of the brain (look up shaken baby syndrome).

Let's make a small list of evolutionist lies that have been debunked throughout the years:

1. Haeckel's embryo with "gill slits" photo. It was proven to be a fraudulant drawing.

2. The "geologic column" which was made up by 1 person. The funny thing is that all of the world's geology can be explained by a global flood (see Hydroplate Theory).

3. "Missing links", see image. There is no missing link, the ENTIRE CHAIN is missing. We should have billions of fossils showing transformation from an animal to another, yet we have zero.

4. Radiometric dating. It has been proven to be unreliable yet evolutionists constantly use to "date" things incorrectly. They also imply that radioactive levels have always been the same in the world (not taking into account the flood and its catastrophical changes to the world).

When anything comes up that suggests the Earth is 6000 years old, evolutionists scramble to suppress it and prevent people from seeing it. Carbon 14, fresh dinosaur tissue, tracing mankind (Adam & Eve all the way to 2000 adds exactly to a population of about 7 billion). Sea salt, erosion, sediments and geological formations that all point towards a global flood. Brimstone balls found in Jordan, chariot wheels found in the Red Sea, etc.

The reason you don't want to believe in creation is because you don't want to believe in God.
You want to do whatever you want so you'd rather believe you came from a rock [insert imaginary number of years] ago. Satan gladly helps you with his theory of evolution.

"Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator" Romans 1:25
"The fool has said in his heart, there is no God." Psalm 14:1
"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" Romans 1:22
"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie" 2 Thessalonians 2:11
"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts" 2 Peter 3:3

Proof the Earth is 6000 years old.

1. Population: The rate of population growth has been steady for the time that we have records. The present six billion is the right number of people to have multiplied from the eight survivors of the universal flood about 4400 years ago. If man had been around for millions of years, the same growth rate would have produced 150,000 people per square inch of land surface.

2. The planets are losing heat. If they had been formed millions of years ago, they would have no internal heat left given the present rate of heat loss. If a hot cup of coffee were left standing for 400 years, it would have no internal heat left.

3. The planet Saturn is losing its rings. They are slowly moving away. If the planet were millions of years old, the material in the rings would have dissipated long ago.

4. The moon: Space dust accumulates on the surface of the moon at the rate of about one inch for every ten thousand years. Astronauts found an average of one-half inch, just about what you would expect in six thousand years. Also, the moon is very slowly moving away from the earth. If it were millions of years old, it would have had to start very close to the earth, causing ocean tides so severe it would have drowned every thing on land twice a day.

5. Comets: As comets travel through space they continually shed some of their material. Any comet more than 10,000 years old would have long since disintegrated into nothing.

6. Earth's magnetic field is getting weaker. At the rate of deterioration, no such field would exist if the earth were as old as evolutionists believe.
>>
>>62915831
7. Earth's rotation is slowing at the rate of one thousandth of a second per day. At this rate a billion years ago it would have been spinning so fast that centrifugal force would have caused it to fly apart.

8. Petroleum in the ground is under tremendous pressure. The rocks that contain it are porous. If the oil had been there for millions of years the pressure would have dissipated long ago.

9. The oldest living plants, the bristlecone pine tree and the coral reefs only go back about 4500 years. If earth had existed for millions of years, why aren't there older plants still alive?

10. Ocean salt: Now at 3.8 percent, the salinity of the oceans would have been much greater. The present rate of increase points back to a beginning about six thousand years ago.

11. Evolutionists point to stalactites in caves as proof of an old earth, but there are stalactites in the basement of the Lincoln Memorial several feet long that have grown in less than 100 years.

The evidence continues to accumulate, exposing the evolutionist's erroneous assumptions. Yet, in blind faith, they cling to their absurd theories rather than accept the Biblical record of creation.

Catholicism in a nutshell:

1. Roman empire persecutes Christians and attempts to wipe them out. Doesn't work because the faith continues to spread

2. Constantine "converts" to Christianity and the Roman empire becomes "Christian". Adds all sorts of unscriptural doctrines, pagan traditions and philosophy to make this new religion more attractive to pagans.

3. Vóila: Roman Catholicism is born.
A mix between paganism and Christianity, it was Rome's way to continued survival.

Satan couldn't destroy Christianity so he infiltrated and corrupted it instead.

Thank God for the Reformation and the revival of true Biblical Christianity.

Many lives were lost. Many martyrs killed by the Catholics for simply reading the Bible and believing in Jesus Christ.

Let me fix that for you:

1. Roman empire persecutes Christians and attempts to wipe them out. Doesn't work because the faith continues to spread

2. Constantine converts to Christianity and the Roman empire becomes Christian. Gathers all wise and learned christian leaders to remove made up extra canonical shit and define what is christian and what is made up crap

3. Orthodox Church is born

4. centuries later it splits and it's western half becomes corrupt, catholic church is born

5. a little while after luther becomes fed up with the corrupt shit so instead of coming back to the true church he invents his own because he thinks he knows better and is smarter than thousands of others before him

6. then everyone and their mom invents their own church that even luther becomes sickened with what is happening and viola protestantism is born

There's definitely fame involved, even if it's something as little as making your kid the center of attention in church because of some experience she thinks she's had. Not to mention the boy who claimed he went to heaven who got a best selling book and I think TV movie out of it, that's definitely fame and money

>The 8 year old also spoke very genuinely
OK? It's an 8 year old, it's very easy to convince them of things with the right forms of suggestion. In the 80's there was a massive panic about satanist cultists in schools because kids gave very convincing testimony about them. Surprise surprise it turns out there weren't any satanist cults and it was just investigators and the community hyping things up to the point that kids started actually believing it
>>
>>62917185

Because attention whoring and scamming into faith.

As the child growths and the brain develops, so the childs perception changes. And with change in perception the human brain learns to express itself differently. A 4 year old sucks at perspective and anatomy, if it wants to draw that shit. A 8 year old would be slightly better, but it depends on personal experience. Still, most of the time you have to be older than 8 years to wrap your head around art and how you realise it.

I'm a creationist, but the theory of evolution isn't about something improving; it's about how living things survive their environment. Individuals in a population that can't hack it, don't pass on their genes.

The fact that the dog population far outnumbers the wolf population is a testament to the fact that the dog is more fit than a wolf to live in a world that humans dominate.

Calvary is not a catholic movie. McDonagh himself said that it is an anti-authority film. It has social commentary on the catholic church, and as such is not essentially catholic. Father James is a mythical Jesus-figure but not an allegorical one. Calvary uses the easter story of the gospels (with the least amount of material from John) as an inspiration to the narrative, but not the theological content. Usage of christian mythology does not make a film christian nor from a certain denomination.

Did my bachelor's thesis on Calvary, step up nigga.

Yes, hello!
I don't know about ancient languages so I can't really say if the movie is accurate, sorry.

Matthew 16:18 (also 19) (including other verses for context)

(KJV)
>13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
>14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
>15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
>16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
>17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
>18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
>19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
>20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

Not as stupid of a question as the people replying to you seem to think.

It's hard as fuck to know how ancient versions of languages were pronounced and what accents were like.

However you can guess how languages were pronounced through common misspellings (people trying to spell phonetically) and through stuff like poetry (if you read Shakespeare you can see words that are meant to rhyme that don't in modern English but it's obvious how they used to be pronounced).

I watch this film every night before going to bed. It's so purgative, though I wouldn't call it totally cathartic.

You'd be better off reading the bible every night if you want to be a better Christian
>>
>>62921914
I've read the Holy Bible front to back in various translations and also most notable commentaries, multiple times. I think I'm a pretty good Christian, even though I don't believe. I don't watch the movie nightly as proof of virtue, I do it because it's a good emotional dump.

I used to watch Fletch Lives every night but that wasn't as satisfying.

>if you read Shakespeare you can see words that are meant to rhyme that don't in modern English but it's obvious how they used to be pronounced
That's quite the extrapolation, that they were spoken because they were made to rhyme.
