Is there a definitive split between the two or is that just being too anal? Could Pasolini, if he was to be categorized, be placed in the Second Wave, despite not really wanting to define his work as Neorealism at all? And where would other Italian directors rank? Is Fellini post-Neorealism, or had he developed a truly unique style of his own? What are some other film movements that have been officially categorized and what do you think of them?
