I just watched Oldboy and I really liked it.
What are some other good Asian films (or animes) you would recommend.
>>
Sympathy for Mister Vengeance
Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
Memories of Murder (my favorite on this list)
>>

Address Unknown
Peppermint Candy
3-Iron
Strokes of Fire
Oasis
Secret Sunshine
Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?
Breathless (Yang Ik-Joon)
Take Care of My Cat
Bedevilled
>>

>3-Iron
I recommended this to a friend and he hated it, he's an idiot in my eyes now.

I've never heard anyone talking about Terror Live, it's a great movie
>>
Korean cinema is pleb shit. It's just like Hollywood movies but it's foreign so college pseudo-cinephiles can gloat and claim they're watching superior movies than their peers
>>
>>62890516
>It's just like Hollywood movies
No shit Sherlock, in Korea these movies are just mainstream

But the difference is that they have better plots and endings than Hollywood movies, like they use to make. You could say it's Hollywood 20 years ago.
>>
>>62890515
3-Iron had such a fantastic beginning.
sadly it dropped the ball in the last third.
still a great movie, highly recommended
>>
University of Laughs
The Uchoten Hotel
The Magic Hour
Citizen Dog
Symbol
The Quiet Family
Castaway on the Moon
Heaven's Soldiers
The Clone Returns Home

I will post more if I can think of any.
>>
>>62890406
>Oldboy is trash
Kill yourself, you tasteless pleb.
>>
>>62891054
don't parrot your superiors when you're still stuck in your entry level /b/ movie buff phase kid
>>
Any Asian supernatural horror recommendations? Thanks in advance!
>>
>>62890385
Woman in the Dunes
>>
>>62891082
>entry level means it's bad

>superior
>kid
You can't kill yourself soon enough, you tasteless pleb.
>>
>>62891202
Don't know a lot about Asian cinema but:
The Ring

>an entry level /b/abby actually has the gall to call someone a tasteless pleb when he is the one pretending oldboy is good
I laughed so hard the dogs in the alley are barking
let me guess your other favorite korean movie is something like "i saw the devil" or "the host"
>>
Chungking Express
>>
>>62891301
>still pretending entry level means bad
>more /b/
Huh? You're still alive, tasteless pleb?
>>
Watch the films of Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Kairo, Cure, Charisma, Sweet Home, Seance, Doppleganger.
>>
>>62891202

See >>62891409

Also check out:
Noroi
Occult
Shiromi
Shutter
The Eye
>>
I watched Not One Less yesterday and I loved every second of it, can't believe it got bumped out of Cannes
>>
>>62891252
>>62891472
>>62891409
Thanks bros, I've only seen Shutter, I really liked it.

Also, about to watch Kourei, I hear it's good.

Saved all those to my list.
>>
A Company Man
The Man From Nowhere
Outrage
Battle Royale

and that movie about the rape of nanking that I forgot the name, it's on netflix, it's something like city of fire and death or w/e
>>
>>62891472
Also Kairo (Pulse)
>>
funeral parade of roses
throw away your books, rally in the streets
big man japan
kurosawa's dreams

these are probably my favorites, also check what this guy posted >>62890406

although speaking from experience, asian cinema is not worth "getting into", overall it's really fucking dense, specially drama, there is too much fucking filler. There are good movies but they are kinda "isolated", like, there's no point in watching a director's whole filmography
>>
Talking Head
Gozu
Angel's Egg
Tokyo Godfathers
And NGE, but especially End of Evangelion

>>
>>62890385

If you liked OldBoy at all, check out World of Kanako (2014)

Netflix has a pretty good, entry level selection. Just look at their foreign section and give some a whirl. Korean and Chinese (Hong Kong specifically) are safe bets, but stay the fuck away from Japanese, unless it's Takeshi Mike or Kurosawa.
>>
I watched the opening of OB and it seemed retarded.

The Asian dude screaming for his missing friend was so silly it looked like a B-movie.
