Ok, this is one of the best films I've seen in my life. Is there anything that is on the same level as this? (that are not made from Ron Fricke)
Samsara
>>62883769
yes yes yes
Haven't watched it yet but isn't Sans Soleil supposed to be like it
Niggara
>>62883767
This.
Possibly even better.
>>62883767
This.
Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Noqoyqatsi.
>>62883767
That's your logical next step, and it's amazing
>>62883874
the first one is fantastic, the others not so much
>>62883756
Chronos
>>62883798
Not quite, but it's amazing too.
>>62883767
>>62883874
These are all made by Ron Fricke btw
>>62884234
>>62883899
Chronos is too
>>62883798
it is. Sans Soleil is a legit 10/10 film
>>62883756
>>62883767
these are really good, they are even better when you're high, i only smoke weed once or twice a year, very rarely, but i had an amazing experience watching these movies with a buddy who brought some weed a while back
ITT: People mistakenly suggest Fricke movies
Fata Morgana
Jokes on you retards Fricke did the cinematography for the Qatsi films, didn't direct them
Sort of.

>>62884730
underrated
>>62883756
yes. Samsara and Chronos and Koyaanisqatsi
>>62885438
the music literally made the film, watching mute segments is retarded
>>62884296
What is it about? I watched the trailer and I don't understand anything.
>>62885402
This was a great piece of art. Once you get into the flow and let it wash over you, you kind of wish it were longer.
>>62884234
No they aren't. Filmed by, yes. Not directed by.
Koyaanisqtsi is essential.
>>62886745
he didnt direct the *qatsi trilogy but he did direct Samsara, Baraka and Chronos.
What was wrong with Powaqqatsi anyway? How Godfrey Reggio fricke that one up so bad?
>>62886645
Kinda hard to describe, it's a documentary but it feels more like an essay on memories, their nature and time, while pulling the contrasts from an african country and 80's Japan that was the most prosper country on the planet back then.
DUDE WE SHOULDN'T BRING TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS TO TRIBAL SAVAGES BECAUSE THEY'RE WORTH PRESERVING LMAO
>>62884675
This. Also has a great commentary which almost makes it better
>>62886903
Powaqqatsi was alright, but suffered from being "more of the same" especially during the second half.
Now, Naqoyqatsi....that's where Reggio shit the bed.
Also OP, check out Reggio's other film Visitors.

>>62886701
that fucking ending tho, just flawless
>>62890281
I suggest rewatching Naqoyqatsi. It is an awesome movie once you know what to look in for. Visitors, though, is the darkest of them all, imo.

D- for comprehension you slack jawed philistine.
