Homeland is nothing like 24, even if they share some of the same writers. 24 is a train that constantly barrels forward, no matter that and regardless of logic or sanity or even quality. It has to keep running at full-speed or it falls apart.
Homeland, even at it's most action-movie moments was never like that. It's far more sedate.

I was more thinking about post-Brody Homeland. The themes are the same and it generally shares the shame political views. Quinn is literally Jack Bauer. While it definitely doesn't have the same action and tension, a lot of 24 fans are watching it simply because it's a counter terrorism show.

Only pro-torture season was 6, which is universally acknowledged as the worst season by a wide margin. Even based Harry Lennix can't save it.
S7-8 has an entire storyline about doing all this this horrible shit to people eventually tuns you into a husk of human being. Those two seasons have a bunch of terrible shit in them but at the very least they acknowledged how the writers fucked up with the torture storyline.
