Why are movies so detached from reality?
I've never seen a movie/tv show portraying a person eating their fucking boogers. Most people do it, but if its "icky" then I guess it has no place in the movie/tv show where everyone is beautiful and no one takes a shit, ever.

I don't do this and find the idea anyone does revolting.

Because it's gross to watch and it irritates an audience for the most part. Bodily noises are regularly employed in movies to make audiences uncomfortable or to make characters unsympathetic. See Hard to Be A god for an extreme example.

boogers have a bunch of airborne particles collected in them over time because that is basically the whole point of your nose to filter out harmful stuff in the air so it can't get inside you
