The material and subject matter would be mostly the same. There are plenty of sitcoms nowadays that try to be raunchy and edgy. The difference is, none of them are as clever or as smooth about it as MWC was. They all try far too hard. The characters on these modern sitcoms are basically screaming LOOK HOW EDGY WE ARE. If Married With Children was brought back, chances are it would suffer from the same problem.

ABC, CBS, and NBC never aired much edgy programming and FOX hasn't needed to in order to survive for well over 20 years now. It's not CC or FX/FXX. I completely forgot about Hannibal. They still don't show very many shows that constantly show women in sexy, skimpy outfits like they did in MWC. MWC was full of them. There are probably a few on some networks, but MWC would still probably change in a few ways. I see a few things changing if it were to come out today. Besides which FOX didn't need Family Guy to save it from drowning in 1999. It was an unexpected smash hit, but it wasn't necessary. Without MWC and especially The Simpsons, the FOX network would have gone dormant in the late 80s.
