that was like 1 episode, you can even skip that episode and not lose a lot of the plot, I'm pretty sure it's one of the only episodes where there's no new plot elements to introduce

Every single sitcom in the history of sitcoms is a social commentary on something.
Some shows keep the commentary subtle and other shows keep it loud.
So if someone even claims "Master of None" is a masterpiece tell them no. Tell them that it's been done to death since the 60s and even then there were better sitcoms with better social commentary.
The show is well written, it has some decent shots, and it's fairly acted. It is not a masterpiece.

I've chuckled at his stand-up bits about Kanye west and 50 cent. He's a pretty decent stand up but not great, doesn't interest me enough to watch a whole show about him.
His anti-bullying and feminist rants make him seem like a pussy. I couldn't finish his latest special; I've seen amateurs in comedy clubs that made me laugh more. It's not even about his political and social opinions that much, he's just not very funny.
I watched s1 and while I found the first couple of episodes slightly entertaining, I only really finished it for lack of better other things to watch. its easily watchable drivel. I agree that he's more suited for a television show than stand-up. Parts of his most recent stand-up special were literally him pulling out his cell phone and reading texts and shit from his Twitter.
That said, I think the script is pretty bad in Master of None which made the acting seem really wooden at first. I thought they just picked a ton of shitty actors, but the more I watched, the more I realized it was the script.
This is a prime example of Louie done poorly. Although I'm sure people who late Louie will love this.
