His segments are formatted the exact way. It's like a game of madlibs where they just add in the proper nouns to make it issue specific. Even though the writing is far from great, someone with better comedic abilities (eg. Stewart or Colbert) could salvage it for a little while; No one could carry such a formulaic script for very long. This man has no sense of timing and regularly flubs his punchlines. He only has his accent, and it's tough to watch even when I agree with him.

As a Brit I find it really odd how many words he chooses to pronounce in an American way.
I think I wouldn't have a problem with it if he didn't consistently say "asshole" as "arsehole", even when the text he's saying is on screen, written as "asshole".
"Arse" is a pretty British thing to say, so it seems like he says it often to enforce the joke I'M SO BRITISH LOL. But he's always saying "mom" or "yohgurt" and such. Like, he doesn't trust an American to know how a Brit pronounces those words, he doesn't want to risk confusing his audience, but he's also non-committal to the gag of playing himself up as the funny British man.
