I'm sure you'll find quite a few edgy contrarians on this board who'll say they don't.
>>62765189
They shot themselves in the foot with the cockroach scene. Everything else was fine.

Loved it
I haven't watched it, but I remember seeing it at video stores a lot. I'm guessing this is a stupid nostalgia flick and not actually good in the slightest.
I've watched this too many times.
All I remember is that disgusting cockroach scene as a kid and being grossed out for years
>>62765217
I love how it sells itself as a childrens movie but is laced with dark humor
>>62765358
My favourite dark humour is when the Mayor is dead, but they proceed to still use defibrillators on him (the movements really sell the scene).
>>62765290
nein
iz goot
>>62765438
whoever cast the movie is top notch
the sarcastic/naive main character dynamic is top tier
that one cameo is gold
there are a fuckton of one liners for sure too
>>62765189
I fucking hated this movie as a kid. I just thought it was a Tom and Jerry ripoff that lasted an hour longer than it should.
was it good cgi?
yes, it was
>>62765290
It's a live action cartoon done right. If that's your thing, you'll enjoy it. If not, you'll probably hate it.
>>62765290
No it's actually a pretty decent comedy. Nathan Lane and Lee Evans have great chemistry and it's a lot weirder and darker than the poster suggests. It's not a masterpiece or anything but it has a very distinct style and tone which sets it apart from most knockabout family movies of the era. Also the soundtrack is excellent.
WHATS THAT?
HORSE!
FIELDISH!
I WONT EAT IT!
if this movie doesn't make you laugh then you have no soul
I rewatched it yesterday with my brother and thought it held up really well. Couldn't believe they had that scene at the pound.
>dem chills at the cozy mouse

The guy dying from the cockroach really fucking terrified me as a kid
>>62765216
yawn.
>>62765867
I forgot how cute that little fuck was. Also pretty good cgi.
>>62765189
was always traumatized when the fat guy choked to death at the beginning desu
so much for a family film
>>62765267
That cockroach scene is why I've never eaten a salad in my life, scarred me for life
>>62765267
Yeah, it seems like it wouldnt be that big of a deal but this scene really did hurt the movie in the eyes of its target audience who otherwise loved it
>>62765267
As a kid this fucking terrified me and is now all I can even remember from it
>>62766145
whoa, I watched it when I was a kid and had no idea it messed with so many childhoods, damn
>the part where he throws the orange
>>62765267
>>62766057
>>62766085
The fuck was wrong with that scene?
>>62765267
That shit scarred me for YEARS, for some reason I thought a cockroach would come in through my window and crawl into my mouth to kill me.
Only people with slight calcium deficiency
>>62766057
Yeah it's because of a scene in a movie that you don't eat salads. Fat fuck.
Fantastic movie. So fun. I didn't really find the walken scenes scary thou, more funny... but then insects dont bother me much.
Walken going in a hardened rodent detective / exterminator.

Walken was great.
They used like 60 mice in teams of 5-6 over the course of the movie, there's only a handful of scenes where CG and animatronics are used because mice are actually pretty smart and easy to train.
I liked that part where the dude was using yarn to cover up his junk and some chicks says "hey" or something all coyly and he drops all the yarn
While were on the subject of mice...
What do you guys think of Ratatouille?
It's my favorite pixar movie.
Brad Bird is a god.
Why do people say this is a kids movie? Besides the cockroach, there was plenty of dark comedy there.
>>62765867
oh
em
gee
having a nostalgia total recall over here, need some dunkaroos stat
>>62770069
Because kids movie and family movie are used interchangeably these days, family movies are generally made in a way that children can enjoy while at the same time there lots of little nods there for the adults.
I mean as a kid you see this scene and you laugh at the fat that he has no clothes and "lol she's in her undies woooo" but as you grow up and reflect on it you know what REALLY happened in that office.
>>62770012
>>62770120
Holy lel, that was exactly the scene I was talking about. Was trying to find it in the movie just now, kek
>The mouse has superhuman powers and is sentient

>>62770249

>>62770274
