Sarah Connor started off as a weaker damsel character in the first movie and was forced through her circumstances to get hard. She doesn't blame men, that's stupid. She recognizes there's a global threat from skynet and she's the only one capable of preparing for it. I also appreciate that it is arguably her motherly instinct to protect her son that drives her to surrender her more feminine nature to protect him - taking on a more fatherly role. It's the way she responds to her circumstances, not as a woman but as a person that make her great.
She is a realistic character with realistic motivations, and looks visually capable of doing tough things. This is part of the reason why everyone really hated Emilia Clarke in the role in the new movie. She looked soft and weak- not properly embodying the character visually.
Good "strong" feminist characters need to be realistic/believable - not just a woman being strong.

That's false. In the books, Merry's dagger removed all the spells and protections the Witch King had placed on himself which allowed Eowyn to strike the final blow.
In the movies, I guess it might be the same and just not explained, but it's implied that Merry simply weakened the Witch King long enough for Eowyn to kill him.
No matter how you look at it, this interpretation isn't supported by what's read in the book or seen in the movie.

Eloquent diction is one thing. Hiding your subpar plot point under flowery language isn't terrible. That scene is only nessecary because they needed to make Neo appear to have a moment of noncombative conflict and limitation. imo what's particularly cool about Lady Eboshi though is how she's accidentally a subversion of tired weaksauce western "feminism" tropes. She's this strong warrior, scholar, leader that everyone looks up, protects women, all around super woman, but she's boderline villainous in the story. So all her stonk womyn characteristics take on a sort of malevolent quality as her great efficiency is made all the more dangerous because of her inability to see the reasoning and good the hero is trying to do.
