It's probably not the ink. She said in an interview that after applying the tattoos, they are covered with Monistat because they look better on camera.
Monistat used as directed or on one or two tattoos probably isn't a problem but I wouldn't be surprised if covering 90% of your body with it caused more to be absorbed by the body than is healthy.
Anybody that has done any cell culture and had the misfortune of experiencing yeast contamination will tell you to get a fresh culture but if you have to resort to anti-fungals, it is obvious under the microscope that the cultured cells are being affected too.
