This was very refreshing. Best Bond film I've seen in a while to be honest. Did it really bomb at the box office? What did you think of it?
>>
it wasn't good enough not to bomb
it was very soulless, all characters didn't care about what's been happening
take a James Bond for example, he's cool and cold but at the same time he cares at least a little bit about things. characters in Uncle are just dolls
>>
ok action... ending was too smart for the audiance
>>
I liked it a lot, Cavill was perfect and the gurl dressed in that 60s preppy way gave me a boner, it actually reminded me a lot about No One Lives Forever, which is one of my favourites.
Probably not enough big stars on screen, that's why it bombed, Cavill is a well known face but not exactly someone who tows a movie to success

Literally a retard's opinion.

fun flick really

They say we see ourselves in others.

Why did it bomb? No on elite Le Quirky gadget movies anymore.

The old bond movies get a bigger nostalgia boost than any series ever. They are horrible
>>
best Guy Ritchie movie so far, if he had better actors it would have been a 7/10
>>
Fucking GOAT, blows post Casino Royale Bond out of the water.
10/10 score as well, real pity they won't make a sequel.
>>
It was a good and fun spy movie, just like Rogue Nation (both being way better than the last james bond turd). Also Alicia Vikander is a qt that can actually act (unlike Léa Seydoux who's an actress just because grandaddy is a film producer)

Only when you have your head up your ass.

it was pretty decent
henry cavill's samey delivery of every single line and generally wooden-ass performance was tiring as fuck though

really noticed it when he was talking while breaking into the safe

Blended gritty action and slightly camp comedy perfectly, which isn't easy (see Spectre)
That nazi torture scene was creepy and tense as fuck, and ended up actually being pretty funny. Compare that with Blofeld's X-ray Drill Chair 3000 with the epic white cat cameo.

>Why did it bomb?

Mission Impossible 5 had been released only the week prior and was still doing gangbusters.

I still can't believe they wasted what could have potentially been the best action scene of the movie. I'm talking about the castle raid at the end of the movie, of course. That scene showed glimpses of great elements: retro-futuristic night vision goggles, infrared scopes, 1960s SAS, beach assault, etc,... Instead of showing the scene as a tense, tactical action sequence, they went full retard and decided to make it a comic book style montage with cheesy music dubbed over it. What. The. Fuck. Instead of a sick action sequence showing SAS troopers using cool tech and tactics to infiltrate the castle, we got a dumb-ass gopro shot of a dune buggy. Fuck you guy ritchie, you dumb son of a bitch
>>
It was incredibly mundane, apart from the hotel scene with ilya and gaby there wasn't a single moment in the film where you didn't feel like you were looking at people consciously acting.

Add to this a plot which was absolutely uninteresting even for this type of mcguffin movie, and 'daughter of a nuclear scientist' trope, seriously...

Only thing it had going for it was the 60's style, everything else was a plain, going through the motions affair.

Thankfully it won't be getting a sequel due to the way it bombed, even though the whole end scene was a poor attempt at setting up a rebooted franchise.
