Yeah, I liked this movie. It have it's own stupid moments. Like Bond "building" his gun right INFRONT window of tatrget and pretty whole opening action scene. BUT this movie is something that I can't hate because it's like Dark Knight with nostalgic moments to past-era films (even thou most of people even didn't recognized them), biy SPECTRE is a whole bond-nostalgia set in modern times with modern style of filming and etc.
Train scene (it's ironic that Craig have similar face and appeareance to Robert Show's character Red Grant in train scene in From Russia with Love), snow scene, helicopter staling, a fully weaponized superspeed bulletproof YOBA car with ejection seat, costume refferences (with tuxedo to Brilliants are forever (which is wierdly consirdered as iconic Bond's suit), Moore's polo neck form Live or let die (which is seen on Spectre's poster, but not clearly in moie (wich is also can be refference to Connery's air gun Walter)) ) and skull suit and whole day of dead also from Live or let die, AND MOTHERFUCKING BLOFELD (never belive to Waltz anymore)
If Skyfall was like Bondiana < Realism and actually was like anti-Bond movie all the way (protagonist during whole film considered like something from long campy past, barely saving day to the end),then SPECTRE is pro-Bond movie with Bondiana > Realism, which is I think greatest moment for Putin to leave his role for somebody else.
Again it have some pretty weak points like whole plottwist straight oughtta Captain America 2 or Blofeld's motivation, Skyfall had them too (like explosion by hacking computer, or stupidity for M to use flashlight lone church during the night when they barely escaped Silva), but for SPECTRE something like blurting out damn heli with just pistol is normal because it is normal James Bond movie. That so.

Sry for bad english tho.

It's such a fucking long movie.

I don't mind a lengthy running time, especially when the film is so well paced that you can barely tell that 2 and a half hours have passed.

So many pointless locations, as though the producers handed the scriptwriter a list of countries that MUST feature and so they had to tick them off.

You just CAN'T take normal Bond movie too seriouosly, anon. 007 always was parody on itself.
>>
>>62670264
No.
>>
I think it had a lot of issues. Some of which being that some of what you listed were false. With characters, writing in general, as a whole package it let me down.

It was a Moor script for a Craig Bond. It didn't fit. For three films we've learned this is a serious Bond and for the most part liked it. Each Bond has had their own style, with the odd few exceptions. Now all of a sudden we're thrown into something tonally completely different.

It was a visually boring film for the most part too, again with the previous films, or at least Casino Royale and certainly Skyfall, we've had a visual treat. Now every shot is a block of a single colour, rarely does anything visually interesting actually happen. It feels like the story - formulaic.

The story feels simply like it had ripped scenes from previous films, in particular the last 3. The torture/interrogation scene definitely felt exactly like a combo of Casino and Skyfall.

Worst of all it has the worst song yet, and for the first time the opening title design was straight up shite.
>>

Also,I don't even know what the Blofeld motivation was. He didn't seem to have any purpose or goal at all.

There's next to no characterisation for Blofeld, only drops a couple lines around the whole "Wah daddy loved you more than me".

Fucking great visuals throughout, shame about the story and characters. Obvious setup for future movies is obvious.
>>
>>62670421
This. Fucking all over this. I was so hyped when I found out Waltz was the villain. Was looking forward to a fleshed out, interesting, fucking creepy bad guy like Bardem delivered. Instead, we got minimal development for the villain. He was underused.
>>
>>62666440
>best henchman since oddjob

A giant mute guy who punches through walls and doesn't react to pain. Original.
>>
>>62666647
He was great but the first half of his film was bad. Felt he was kind of wasted in that role
>>
Cinematography was better than skyfall
Sexyness of Locations rivaled Casino Royale
The masses requested a toning down of Jason Bond for a more campy one and they got served
If you follow the sartorial side of James Bond, this film was the best dressed Bond in forever. Blofeld looked like shit but everyone else was top tier, especially Moneypenny/The Widow and Madelaine.
The return of the "main" Henchman trope. I doubted this at first, holy shit was I wrong. HE was amazing. A great opposite for Bond, stronger more intimidating, more efficient, just as confident. For the first time since the Aston martin (TM) scene in Casino Royale I felt Bond was truly in Danger.
Dat soundtrack
dat intro scene. I watch James bond for the luxury travel feels (airplanes, suits, cocktails, exotic destinations, women, feeling important) and that carnival intro just gave me a travel boner.
I love that they brought the gift dog back, dunno why
I actually laughed at every terrible joke including the hippie cocktail that looked like puke
Bond getting actual character development

Weaknesses here and there: blofeld rather petty and incompetent, sub-par third act just like the two last films, second HACKING XDDD plot in a fucking row, reproduced the QoS blowing up villain desert hideout AGAIN, &then some

Weird thing is, I actually miss the awkward so up in your face and bad it becomes good and funny product placement from Casino royale (Virgin, Vaio, Omega? BIOUTIFUL etc..) Everytime I watch CR I fucking love how corny it is but it weirdly fits into the materialistic vibe the film is naturally set in.

Worst Spectre character: Q
Best besides 007, Bautista
Under-used: Widow
Great stuntwork all around, love that they kept it vehicle centric (moving train fight, helicopter, classic light plane chase, car -dat limited edition jaguar henchman drives-

I know it's not an exceptional movie, but it's a damn good one by blockbuster franchise standards. This year was a grand cru for spy flicks.

>So what should we take from this regarding Bond's future?

>My theory is, based on the evidence, that Sony is restarting Bond from the beginning. Spectre was first mentioned in the initial 1962 film, Dr. No, and both the organization and Blofeld wreaked havoc on Bond and MI6 for seven films. Well, eight films including Spectre. Given the inclusion of Bond walking away from his 007 duties with Madeleine Swann and Blofeld not being killed, but "captured," by MI6, I am led to believe previous storylines are being recycled to some degree.

>Even if Daniel Craig does walk away and we get a new Bond for the next installment, they could continue this storyline and Waltz could return as Blofeld. It's only a matter of waiting to see what the studio does with the franchise.

Unfuckingbelievable.. How can someone like that write for a moviewebsite?

>Batista is slightly bland but feels like a proper opponant
>Mr. White
>I like the setup for a multiple movie story line
>torture device is a nice modern twist on the laser concept (but it doesn't work?)
>Q is allright

Bad
>3rd act doesn't make sense and is disconnected from the rest of the movie
>too many location jumps in the first half
>Monica Belluci for 3 minutes. Come the fuck on.
>No chemistry at all between Bond and Seydoux. He's supposed to give up his life as a spy for her but it's unclear what the pull is. They have one awkward conversation and they get drunk in Marocco.
>Blofeld is underwelming after the huge buildup.
>Underused moneypenny
>Mendes pls stop with the "Bond+backup team" approach. This isn't Mission Impossible. I just want to see Bond own people. I don't have to see M fight some guy with his fists.

Weird
>Blofelds motive is that he has father issues..
>What's SPECTRE's goal?
>What was the point of the 9 eyes project? Why wasn't this woven into the third plot better
>Torturedevice doesn't work? didn't it drill into his head? why didn't it deactivate his recognition? Does bond have a magical brain?
>Bond doesn't even watch the Vesper tape. Why show it in the first place?

In the end it was fun. Half hour too long and the 3rd act felt tact on. It's unclear how the plans of the three forgoing villains connect in a larger SPECTRE plot to rule the world (tbqh I don't remember their plans that well senpai). Bonds girl will probably be shot in the next movie.

Scenes I like (not expecting everyone to like them):

>Bond piloting a plane following Batista with no clue how to stop him except flying into him (gradually each part of the plane is destroyed leaving him with a cockpit on two wheels)

>The train fight scene (not as long as the one in From Russia With Love but with graver portent)

>The prolonged torture scene as Bond dangles his trump card

>Bond shooting a helicopter down with a fucking pistol hundreds of metres away

The opening tracking shot and the Blofeld face to face in London with the glass window superimposing Blofeld's face onto Bond's are also great.

It's superior to Skyfall but not quite Casino Royale.

Blofelds key threat is his NSA access to the planet...which he never uses against Bond. They needed to show him actually hunting and hurting people with his tech access. It's like having a movie where someone steals a tank but never drives it.

that and, uh... skyfall came out in 2012, while snowden's leaks were 2013's news, so unless skyfalls writers where timetravelers...

this is actually correct

Hey man X-files predicted 9/11. But yeah I forgot exactly when the Snowden leaks were.

Yes, but it has been part of the zeitgeist since the Patriot Act. In fiction it was always the logical extreme. Snowden just showed it was reality.

I wish it wasn't so meta

The first scene was amazing. That mask gave me a boner, really really great costume design.

Crater base completly destroyed by one handgun bullet are you kidding me?

Overral it was worse than Skyfall but could have been so much more

oh man, I just had a thought.

IS THE CAT OK?!?
>>
>>62683383
Wait, which cat?
>>

For Craig? No, that's Another way to die.

For Bond series in general? Don't be stupid, that title cannot be taken from Madonna and "Die Another Day".

At least Madonna was born a woman and not pretending to sing like one. Fuck all y'all DaD haters
>>

Oh shit, I forgot about mr Fluff!
It survived and in the next film it's going to be an ugly bald cat after it's incineration, thematic with Blofeld.

Questionable. Sean Penn did nothing wrong.

More like thematic with MR BIGGLESWORTH

I'm not sure what I think so I'll just blog.
Belluci was criminally underused, and a single shot blowing up and entire base and downing a chopper was stupid.

I keep hearing this argument but I think its slightly off.

Blofeld didn't seem to hate bond for his daddy issues, he blamed/killed his father and tossed aside his old identity, and left bond behind, after all, he is some kind of sociopath.

However, when bond constantly interferes in his plans, he kills those around him as a retaliation.
Which brings us to the theme of "revenge can't save those you love/make you happy". As bond kills and delves deeper, getting closer to spectre, he gives inspiration for the NYT bestseller "Allyourpain".

Bond ends by showing restraint and choosing the girl over revenge, which is foreshadowed when he doesn't watch or take the vesper tape; he has moved on in this regard.

If only these themes had been better shown and executed. Or even if they all were in the accident that killed the father so the audience could at least slightly sympathize with blofeld.
Also blofeld never really gave a good reason for his actions, no explanation about why power was desirable for him, since unlike in skyfall, his motives were not simply revenge. The issue was the ending didn't really enforce this idea, bond didn't have to choose between chasing blofeld and saving his grill in the end.

Dear lord, the whole chemistry at their sex scene was laughably bad. I almost laughed out loud when I saw how awkward the body language was.

His relationship with Lea was was just as badly paced. Like it takes 3 scenes between "I hate you, get away from me" to hardcore flirting and raunchy sex after killing some dude. I get that Bond is a master seducer, but this is the work of a fucking magician.
