What's funny is that Tim's character is such a clueless, self-absorbed asshole that he fails to realise that he himself is responsible and instead of learning anything from the incident his reaction is to use it as material for his shitty mid-life crisis in rock band. It's basically the natural culmination of seven seasons worth of character comedy.
