What the fuck happened this season. The first episode was GOAT and everything afterwards has just been garbage, with the minor exception of the ending of the Antiques skit and some of the Summit Ice jokes.

Nathan 4U has stopped being awkward humor to being dickhead humor where he is mean to people on TV and gets away with it. That might be funny to some people but even they would have to admit this season isn't nearly as god as 1+2.
>>
>>62635335

I think you're overreacting anon. There may have been some subpar stuff but the movement was pretty funny and episode 2 wasn't bad by any stretch. Just cool your balls anon, it's not worth getting worked up about

what the fuck are you on about? Ep 1 was fucking hilarious, so gold how he made the shrink think that guy was crazy, and the ending when he just leaves the girl there, haha i love it when he does that, just leaves two random people together.

And ep 3 was legendary, probably on of the best episodes every, on pair with the starbucks one and drink a little boys pee. The gym guy was so freakin crazy, lying his ass off on every morning show in america. The detective was also fucking gold the "heartfelt" moment in the car where he talks about his kids and , LOL annd "I guess i did porn...no wonder my parents were so fucking mad at me" LOOOL

Everything is real (except Nathan ofc, he's playing a character). He comes in with a camera crew, claiming he's making a tv - show about helping businesses and then he gets people to sign a contract (probably so they cant sue him) before they join the show. Stupid as 'muricans are they probably get starstruck by the cameras and a chance to be on a TV - show, so they say yes. You see this in a bunch of episodes, they think they're in some "real" reality tv - program and stats opening up about all kinds of shit, but really he's just making fun of them. Also there's been 2 instances where he have "trolled"/tricked people on a national level: The Starbucks episode and more recently The movement episode. In both these episodes he tricks a bunch of news outlets. "The movement" (where tricked people into working for a moving company as their gym) still has it website up and running and you can get the book he had made in the episode on Amazon.

It really is real, there's tons of other proofs: past contestants sharing their experience (for instance Austin Bowers, just a normal guy that posted on craiglist, that nathan contacted), Nathan for you sometimes almost breaking character and laughing because some people are so crazy, producers, Nathan, past contestants, all claiming it's true.

It's really debated if it's real or not...it is.

Interview with Austin Bowers:

And as reddit has pointed out the businesses and owners are all real; lots of them have their own websites and yelp sites (cba to google now, but when you're watching a random ep, just google the business to see for yourself)

Also here, on reddit again (yeye fuck off), he basically admits everything:

There were people who were angry when they found out Bear Grylls wasn't actually surviving by himself for his show when it first aired.
They made threads on imdb about how he's a fraud and it's all fake because someone filmed him and his camera crew eating burgers at a diner.
Literal morons.

Why do you think NFY is staged?
>>
>>62641522
I think this season is great but so far I have to say it's the weakest one.
>>
>>62641490
Of course not. I think it's obvious when someone on the show has no idea what is happening or when they are playing along just to get to be on tv.
Sometimes he has to pay them to be there, like the drunk ''actor'', after he broke all those plates they made him pay for them, he looked pissed but
after he got in the car with Nathan he was visibly relaxed and you could see him toying with a roll of cash.
Nathan reimbursed him for the broken stuff otherwise he wouldn't have agreed to be on his show without his face blurred.
A moron will point this out and go ''hurrrr durrrr fake''.
Same shit with Bear Grylls back then: ''OMG on tv, he shows how to catch and eat raw fish, but between takes he eats hamburgers??? hurr fake durr!!!''

About this staged thing

I love in S1 or 2 when Nathan was talking about not wanting to talk with a taxi driver. Not only it was staged but it was also presented with a really intentional cringy delivery. Really when you see that segment you'll understand how the entire show is real and how ingenious the show is.

As someone who has worked on a reality show before, I'd assume it's half-real and half-fake like every other reality show out there. They probably do a shitload of massaging behind the scenes to get things set up the way they want before filming the outcome. There's no way, for instance, that anyone who has lost money during one of Nathan's schemes wasn't compensated immediately after the cameras were turned off. Or that every time they go to some crazy person claiming to be an expert in something, that they didn't go to five different people to find one that actually is super crazy.
>>
>>62645199

I have never seen any of the HGTV shows imply the charismatic hosts were doing the actual grunt work. I "watch" a lot because I always have the TV on while working.

They will do one small portion, or they will draw up the plans/buy the fixtures, and then say get the crew in to fulfill their vision.

You are trying to gotcha something that does not hide what it does.

My understanding is that all the expenses come out of the show's budget. They don't have to do much, which is why they go along with it even if they're skeptical.

>Or that every time they go to some crazy person claiming to be an expert in something, that they didn't go to five different people to find one that actually is super crazy
